Last Man Standing Ultramarathon

Last Man Standing Ultramarathon There will be no male, female, or age group awards, only the Last Man (athlete) Standing. It will be an easy loop to finish in under an hour for most people.

Man (definition) – humankind; the human race; fellow; individual; person – From Webster

The Last Man Standing Ultramarathon is a different type of event with a new “race” starting every hour on the hour. The course will be a 4.2 mile trail loop with nice double track and some moderate elevation gain. At least for the first few times around! The loop will be on the same trails as 2016 but for 2017

we will run the oposite direction (counter clockwise). Racing starts at 12 noon on Saturday with a shotgun start. Men and women will complete the course at whatever pace they choose, but they MUST complete the loop in less than 60 minutes! Those that complete the course in under an hour will earn the right to continue. The next gun start is at 1pm. Same loop, same rules apply. The race continues in this format until there is only one athlete remaining (standing). The lone athlete must be standing at the starting line ready for the next start to be declared the Last Man Standing and the winner. Race organizers will provide a 40′ X 80′ tent with cans of Funky Bow beer and Farmhouse Project playing Saturday night from 6pm-9pm. We'll have Phil's BBQ back for another year from 4pm-10pm on Saturday. We strongly encourage you to visit Pineland Farms Market for fantastic locally grown and prepared foods. Pineland Farms has a strict NO DOGS policy. We love our dogs as much as you love yours. Please leave your dogs at home for this event. If you bring a dog to the event, you will be asked to leave and disqualified from the event. NO DOGS

To the participants, crew, family members, spectators, volunteers, stream and leaderboard watchers, vendors, and venue support...

Thank you.

It is sincerely overwhelming (in the best way) being surrounded by so much positivity and persistence. In person you can genuinely feel the connection and energy in the air. Add in the constant stream of online support and it's impossible not to feel the love.

Everybody who visited in person made sure the participants and venue alike we're taken care of. Racers' needs were met and the venue was left clean.

We opened registration for 2026 at 10 AM Eastern yesterday and as of this moment there are only 50 spaces remaining. LMS runners and crew inspire the next wave year after year.

For now, we'll all get caught up on sleep, but shortly we'll begin preparations for next year. It's never too early to get excited for LMS. The trail is open to the public, and we'll run clockwise next year. Get after it.

So again, thank you all. Your support means the world to us, and we can't wait to see you next year.
