Hey Heady Hillians! It's with a heavy heart that we have decided to take this year off from producing Head for the Hills and focus our energies into our other projects. The passed 5 years have been truly special. To see the festival grow into what it has become was the best gift any of us could have asked for! Seriously the vibe y'all created was out of this world and it is something we will all cherish for the rest of our lives. We love you all and hope to see you at our other events in the near future. Thank you all so much for believing in us and giving us a chance to create a space for everyone to enjoy!

Workshop abstract
Creating Sacred Space through Scent
1:30-2:30pm on Friday

Our sense of smell will guide us through interactions with traditional incense burning and smudging. We will discuss the spiritual significance of incense offerings and the energetic clearing associated with the smudging process. Join us in this aromatic journey, connecting the physical and spiritual realms to create sacred space in our homes and in ourselves, encouraging the practice of small and sweet ritual in our daily lives.

Hosted by Fawn Gregg of Medicine of the Spirit

Workshop Abstract:

Khalil Gibran tells us in 'The Prophet' that "(Our) children are not (our) children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through (us) but not from (us)."
It is our sacred duty to guide them, protect them, and equip them to thrive in this world and the next. The word 'discipline' comes from the root 'disciple'. As such we are not meant to mold, manipulate, or punish, but rather to guide, teach, and model. This workshop addresses such topics as, developmental psychology, physiology and meeting basic needs for optimal results, gentle partnering, when contemporary physics affirms ancient understandings and beliefs, philosophy of education, and controversial opinions/countercultural techniques. Join us to hear first hand the specific agreements we made with ourselves and our children that have given us the opportunity and pleasure to joyfully follow them back to our youth and to walk next to them into the future.
