Neskowin Valley School Harvest Festival

Neskowin Valley School Harvest Festival is the most amazing event on the Oregon Coast held the 1st Saturday of October.

All day fun including live music, vendors, grill, beer garden, kids activities. All proceeds benefit local independent education.

Wow! Our hearts and minds are still so full as we reflect on this year’s Harvest Festival! What a wonderful way for our community to come together, celebrate the season, and support our school. Thank you, thank you to all who attended as guests and vendors, offered sponsorships, and made donations. We raised over $8,000 for our annual fund which helps to subsidize tuition, retains our high quality teachers, and secures art and enrichment activities for our students. Lastly, we want to extend an ENORMOUS thanks to the NVS parents who put together this year’s festival. We know an event of this scale was a monumental task, and deeply appreciate you sharing your time, talents, and efforts with our school!

The NVS community is enthusiastically preparing for the annual Harvest Festival! While the festival is a parent-run event, it is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn a bit about business, production, and customer service by running their student store. Each class creates and contributes something to the store. This year the Sea Star class is offering organic dried catnip from the school’s garden. They planted the catnip last spring and have been tending it since. This fall they harvested it, separated the leaves from stems and put them in a dehydrator. Students helped design labels and then packaged all of the catnip with love and care. As you can see, it was enthusiastically approved by our school cat and quality control manager, Flames. We hope to see you all at the Harvest Festival tomorrow! Be sure to stop by the student store to encourage our young entrepreneurs!
