Join us on Sunday, November 8 in celebrating renowned local artist Beverly Nevers and her incredible lifetime of work, including this painting of Stuart's Opera House titled Winter on the Square. As part of the restoration of the historic Stuart's Opera House building, Beverly hand-painted rose bouquets motifs on the theater's balcony overhang wall (including a secret ladybug hidden in one of the bouquets), which are admired by thousands of patrons each year.

The reception will be held from 1:00 - 5:00 PM in Stuart's lobby, and will include selections of her many paintings, photos and memorabilia from friends and family. The exhibition of Beverly's work will be on display in the Stuart's Opera House lobby between November 8 - December 14. Attendance is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

It's Latino & Hispanic Heritage Month! To celebrate, weā€™re highlighting the incredible Colombian artists bringing Madre Cumbia to Stuartā€™s Opera House on November 10.

Meet Carmelo Torres a Latin Grammy Award-winning accordionist and composer.šŸŖ—šŸ’ƒ

A direct heir to the cumbia sabanera lineage shaped by pioneers such as AndrƩs Landero, Torres is widely regarded as one of the last great acordeonistas gruesos. He spent more than 30 years performing with Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto before forming his own group, Carmelo Torres y su cumbia sabanera.

Today, he continues to bring cumbia sabanera to audiences around the world, helping preserve and share this important Colombian musical tradition.

His cultural significance also reaches beyond the stage. Torres portrayed Francisco el Hombre, the legendary accordionist who defeated the devil in a musical duel, in Episode 4 of Netflixā€™s "One Hundred Years of Solitude."

Catch Carmelo Torres and Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto live at Stuart's, presented in partnership with OHIO Performing Arts & Concert Series. Secure your tickets today on our website!
