We are still a few weeks away from spine surgery check up, but today she had her checkup for post kidney infection, she is doing great and infection free. She is also doing so well with her homebound schooling and her favorite new part so far of post surgery is all her “drip” as they call it these days aka clothes that actually fit and being able to wear normally jeans for the first time. Lastly she officially measured in at 5’3” today which is 3 inches taller the pre surgery and she is loving it.

Was a very scary past few days as Emmalynn was recovering great from spine surgery and ended up with a kidney infection ...

Was a very scary past few days as Emmalynn was recovering great from spine surgery and ended up with a kidney infection that landed us in the childrens hospital for a few days. We are back home and back to the road of recovery. Can’t thank our little family enough as the older girls and Cory really stepped in and pulled off everything and even made sure Emmalynn and I were taken care of on all angles since this wasn’t a planned event!

Couldn’t ask for this to be going any better, two weeks in and we are doing good started school from home twice a week, ...

Couldn’t ask for this to be going any better, two weeks in and we are doing good started school from home twice a week, on less medication, a few short outings and able to sit longer, but still have a long road of recovery to go.

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers! It’s been a long few days but Emmalynn made it through her fusion surgery and is on the road to recovery. They fused T2-T12 and did some rotation of her ribs. She’s has walked a bit, sat up and ate. We have a long road to full recovery but hope to be able to go home soon. She’s most excited that she grew 2.5 inches within 8.5hours 🤣🤓

Today we start Emmalynn’s journey through spinal fusion surgery, one we hoped we would never have to see as this desision didnt come lightly, but one we are navigating though with a very positive attitude and outlook. Today she had an MRI and tomorrow is Pre-op and some blood work with her doctor that she has been with for 8years. She is such a brave super hero through it all as she is doing school in a hotel room with a smile and laugher even through all the unknowns and new things. We will have more details and answers tomorrow and leading up to the big day October 23. Thank you to all our close family and friends showing her and our family all the love and support as we embark on this next journey with our brave super hero!
