“Everything We Thought We Wanted,” the new album from Los Angeles Country-Americana artists The Far West, is now available and features the singles “Joshua Tree,” “Hope I Don’t Bleed” featuring the legendary Dave Alvin, and “See For Yourself.”

The Far West’s “Everything We Thought We Wanted” is the No. 1 most-added album and the No. 3 most-added album, respectively, at Americana Radio in its first two weeks, according to Americana Radio airplay charts. The band was also honored with the distinction of being selected as an official Americanafest showcasing artist for 2025.

The Far West ~ Official AMERICANAFEST Showcase Artists. The band:
Brian Bachman, drums and backing vocals

Life sometimes has a way of complicating the process of making a record, which is never an easy task to begin with.

So it was in the case of ‘Everything We Thought We Wanted’, the third album by the gifted Los Angeles country/Americana band The Far West, and their first for the Blackbird Record Label. Childbirth, a national pandemic, missing masters, and the catastrophic Eaton fire that leveled Southern California’s Pasadena/Altadena area in January 2025 — this story has everything.

Mike Miz (Michael Patrick Mizwinski) is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from the Wyoming Valley of Northeast Pennsylvania. Raised in a creative household, he was introduced to music by his father, a guitarist, and his mother, who played artists like Doc Watson and Bonnie Raitt. By age 15, he was already performing in bars and festivals with his first band, and his early exposure to
acts like the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead helped shape his musical style.

In 2010, Mike launched his own project, MiZ, blending Americana, jam-band energy, and classic songwriting. He’s opened for legends like Derek Trucks, Jason Isbell, and Blues Traveler, and his music has been featured on FX’s Sons of Anarchy. Since relocating to Nashville in 2019, he’s collaborated with artists including Andrew Farriss (INXS), Paul McDonald, and Tania Elizabeth (Avett
Brothers), and performed at the Grand Ole Opry. His recent albums Only Human (2023) and Maybe Moonlight (2024) received praise from Rolling Stone, Relix, and Paste. Known for his heartfelt songs and high-energy shows, Mike continues to tour nationally and is releasing ‘Sometimes by Surprise’, his third album release with Blackbird Record Label on 9.19.

Canadian born troubadour David Newbould has kept himself in motion throughout his adult life, from working with indie band The Mercenaries in New York City, joining forces with friends like Jon Dee Graham and Cindy Cashdollar in Austin TX, and writing songs with the likes of Dan Baird and Aaron Lee Tasjan in his adopted hometown of Nashville. All of these experiences feed the stories that find themselves on the track list for Average Fidelity Vol. 1.

All of these songs were filtered through the (mostly) one man band that was formed upon the completion of his home studio.“I played drums as a kid, I can play bass, I was force-fed piano lessons at a young age… Let’s get it on!” The result is a vast set of songs that feel remarkably live.

“The guitars are raw, the drums are mostly simple and heartfelt…it’s like a live one man rock and roll band.”

Average Fidelity Vol. 1 marks David Newbould’s third full album release with LA based Blackbird Record Label, following 2024’s Live in Germany, and 2021’s Power Up!
