Welcome Danny!

Welcome Danny!

For readers only...I sat down tonight and wrote a short story about my week at Charter!!!

It has been a wonderful week at Hermitage! We had Breakfast with the Bennama's...visits from our amazing corporate and support team including the incredible Miss Jayne, Chris, Christie, Cassie, Jim, Jason, Brittany and our new Miss Q, remember that like I am Miss D! (That is how the greats roll in Hermitage - just one letter! Ha!) all here to welcome our new Executive Director Mr Danny with our Hermitage Team!

Much love and appreciation to all who helped in our transition! I do have to tell my people though...Miss D is worn out tonight after a very busy, busy week and two new families moving in this month! I think it may be 3 after this weekend!

I sometimes forget what a blessing it is not just for me but for all of the employees, families and residents how beautiful it is to have such amazing leaders not just in this week for a visit -- but sharing so much love to our community every day. You are incredible and I feel the passion as a member of the Charter Team. Thank you for all you do -- and let's keep !

And of course I would get into really deep trouble to leave out --with anyone who has ever toured with me and -- such a talented partner and friend. I appreciate you my brother -- as well as Legacy Healthcare and all our support system folks. It almost feels like I just won the Oscars and I am giving my speech! Well since I will never win...Eddie K and Billy T are the only ones with a chance!...for anyone who is still in this thread with me...I love my residents, families, support folks and all of those at Charter who keep things going.

It was a special week and it lifted my spirit and brought Joy to my heart. Sadly, I did not see Miss Joy this week! It is snowing tonight so all of my tours are cancelled in Nashville tomorrow -- but I will be back at it on Sunday! Welcome Mr Danny - I already know you will be taking excellent care of our community! Love and Hugs, Miss D :-)

Oh - no -- I forgot Buoy! Honestly I did not forget -- I just saved the best licks for the last! :-)

Merry Christmas!

It is with great sorrow that I need to share that our wonderful Miss Pam has left her pain to be with the Lord. Our team, residents, families and our local community will be celebrating the life of our beautiful Pam.

Pam was one of the kindest people I have ever known. She took care of every person that walked in the door. I loved to do tours when Pam was working because she could always find something in common with her or our community which brought comfort to folks who were trying to make a very difficult decision.

Pam was a Mother figure to so many of our employees. And to many as myself, a dear friend. It should be a surprise to none that on Pam's last birthday -- this was the cake that I got for her. I wonder how many times I have said - I love you Pam or Thank you Miss Pam -- she was a very special woman and her spirit will remain in our community forever.

It was incredibly special for Pam to spend her last week with our community. For someone who has done so much to take care of all of us -- we were blessed to be able to take care of you! One of the last things we talked about was her private show with Eddie K...she smiled the biggest smile. She said I did good. Now that thought makes me smile! Love you Miss Pam -- heaven scored a touchdown today -- you will be so missed by all of us!

Big Hugs, Donna and all of us whose hearts you have touched.

Ahhh...I love this picture. Miss Pam has such a great sense of humor. Back in the early days of Covid Miss Pam had to take everyone's temp and have them fill out a long form. We had a couple of community drop off baskets so she tried to get the temp on Mr. Lemon and Mrs. Banana...

Quite a difficult day today. I played the Christmas show videos staring Eddie K and Keven and Kimberly Augustine Bennema on my phone and sang along. Sorry Eddie K - it was not good on my end. We did agree that you do a very amazing Elvis...so Eddie K plans to surprise Pam on Wednesday and do these songs in her room but I don't know if she is going to make it. I told her today how much I love to make special surprises happen and she needs to hang on for her private concert but there is a very good chance that she will be free from pain by the morning. Eddie K called while I was singing with Pam and she lit up. We had a really nice talk. If we do not have Pam with us on Wednesday...I think we did pretty good under the circumstances...

Our team and residents are just a blessing to Pam. Such a rally! We have someone near all of the time. We are all a little off...our dear director Bill Allyn came in to see Pam while I was sitting with her and I said it was a little cold. Bill got Pam a blanket and adjusted the heat or so we thought. I said to Pam about 45 minutes later...I am really cold...Bill put on the air conditioning! Pam got a good laugh out of that and so did I!

So much respect for the insight with Bill to know how important it was for Miss Pam to be with her Charter family and her family together as we celebrate her life. Hugs, Miss D

Hello All - I decided that I wanted to update on this thread since many people may not have seen it over the weekend.

Tina, Mark, Angie, Karen and the rest of the Charter Team were blessed to welcome Miss Pam and her family to our community as one of our residents. Miss Dean who had her 95th birthday today is coordinating with our residents for Christmas Cards and visits.

Please keep our dear Pam in your prayers. So many love her so much. She has been and is such a gift to our community. Please share this post and keep our prayer chain strong as we love Pam to a beautiful celebration of life. Hugs, Miss D

I looked a long time for this picture tonight. Miss Pam Daugherty Fitzhugh and I sure shared a lot of music and memories together. This picture was taken on the afternoon that Eddie K was on his way to Charter after a long amount of time of not being able to share his beautiful music with our seniors, families and team members due to Covid. Pam loves Eddie K! :-)

The night before I dug through boxes looking for Montgomery Gentry Fan Club shirts that my marketing company made for the band and their fans. This one was Troy Gentry's special shirt - it was what he said right before he walked out on stage to every MG show. It was the first time that I had worn it since Troy passed away and Pam and I had a very good talk about life and beautiful memories. I don't have many pictures with Pam and I together - but this is one I treasure.

I wanted to share with my Charter Family this post from tonight.

"This is Caroline Pam’s daughter. Mom will be moved soon to Charter Living in Hermitage for hospice care. Charter is where mom worked since 2012 as a receptionist. There is nothing else the doctors can do for mom’s stage 4 cancer. She has been unable to regain mobility in her legs to come home. Hospice is the best choice. Our hearts are breaking. The cancer is in her colon, liver and lungs. Please pray for mom. She could be with us weeks or months according to her oncologist. I am not ready to lose my mom at age 30. God is in control. ❤️"

Our Charter Team loves so much our Miss Pam and we will do our very best to deliver her from pain and to our Lord. Please keep us all in your prayers...this is going to be a tough one...Hugs, Miss D
