Play Guidelines
I Play Format Guidelines
1 Plays must be original, 10-minute plays, n
ot previously produced
2 Plays are intended for adults but must be suitable for a general audience as children of all ages are likely to attend with their parents.
3 Plays must use no more than 4 actors: 2 men and 2 women. Multiple rolls, cross gender casting, cross age casting, and characters who are inanimate objects are acceptable.
4 Plays must be suitable for a small (8’ X 16’) outdoor stage with no lighting or sound. Actors may be in full view of the audience when off-stage.
5 A small table and up to four basic chairs will be provided. Any elaborate props or additional set components must be provided by the playwright in collaboration with the Director. II Play Submission Guidelines
1 Plays must be written by residents of Middle Tennessee
2 Plays must be submitted to [email protected] in standard play format in pdf with a cover sheet giving the title of the play and name and contact information for the playwright(s).
3 In the subject line of the email put “PF, [playwright’s name(s)], [title of the play (abbreviate if necessary)]”. One play per email please!
4 Deadline for submission is July 1, 2015. Decision will be made as soon as possible, no later than July 15, 2015. All submissions will receive a response, yes or no.
5 Scripts not selected will be deleted, not kept. III General Information
1 Playwrights are welcome to attend rehearsals. They are also invited to give edits or make suggestions before or after rehearsal. Rehearsals will take place on evenings and/or weekends between August 15th and the September 12th performance date. Exact rehearsal dates and times TBD.
2 Performances will be Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2015, from 1P – 5P. Each play will have three or four performances in that time period.
