The energy, the smiles, and the sea of green made it an unforgettable event! A huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing runners who showed up and gave it their all, our generous sponsors who helped make it possible, and our incredible volunteers who kept everything running smoothly.

OBSE has always been proud to highlight the incredible history and beauty of our community by hosting races through local landmarks and historic sites.

Unfortunately, many of the areas used for our OBX Marathon Weekend (fun run, 5k, 8k, Half Marathon, Marathon) November 8-9th are owned and operated by the Federal Government. Due to the ongoing government shutdown, these sites are closed and unavailable for use.

It's a heart-wrenching decision, but we must announce the CANCELATION of ALL OBX Marathon Weekend events this 2025. Both race days were scheduled to take place on Federal property, making it impossible to safely hold our events.

All registered runners will still receive their race swag, medals, and a 40% off code by mail in the upcoming weeks as a small thank-you for your continued support.

We know how much this weekend means to our runners, volunteers, and entire Outer Banks community. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support- we'll be ready to welcome you back as soon as we can.
