Did you know that stone crabs can voluntarily drop a claw to escape danger and completely regrow it over time?

Younger crabs can replace a limb in just a few months, while older adults take about three years to get back to full size. It’s one of nature's coolest survival tricks!

Film Thought of the Day: How can communities support filmmakers?

Show up. Watch the films. Share them. Hire local crews. Offer locations, permits, or production support when it makes sense. Encourage schools, businesses, and local leaders to treat film as part of the community, not just a passing project.

Support does not go unnoticed. When a community backs its filmmakers, it creates jobs, brings people together, attracts visitors, and builds pride. Art gives a place a voice. Film can put that voice on screen.

Supporting filmmakers is not only good for the artists. It helps a community grow.

All Aboard Myrtle Beach History!

The Historic Myrtle Beach Train Depot (851 Broadway) opened May 6, 1937, just before the town was incorporated. Built by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad and Myrtle Beach Farms Company, it welcomed vacationers, honeymooners, and freight that helped build the resort.

Passenger service faded, the building became a warehouse, and by the late 1990s it faced demolition. Community effort and the All Aboard Committee saved it. Restored and reopened in 2004 (on the original dedication anniversary), it’s now on the National Register of Historic Places and hosts events, receptions, and gatherings.
