Muskegon Awning & Fabrication (MAF) has been serving the needs of West Michigan, since 1890. MAF is a leading distributor and manufacturer in our industry, serving both residential and commercial customers. We offer a wide variety of solutions in awnings, canopies, pergolas, enclosures, boat covers, and many more areas including commercial sewing and repairs.

POSITION SUMMARY

Due to tremendous demand for our products, we are currently seeking a talented consultative sales professional to join our successful team. Based out of Muskegon, the Sales Consultant position offers the opportunity to use a consultative approach and to be the solution provider to our customers. Our sales method allows us to consult with the customer, build trust with our company and our products, and offer solutions to the customer's needs. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic self-starters with a passion for developing and fostering solutions as well as relationships.

Muskegon Awning is continuing to grow and we'd love for you to join our team!

You will be working closely with our shop foreman in developing your skills and learning about our products and how to manufacture them. You'll be trained to fabricate:
> Retractable Awnings
> Metal Awnings
> Recovering Existing Frames
> Custom Fabrication Products

Our expectations for this position include:
> Performing the work outline on our orders with efficiency and accuracy
> Assisting co-workers on projects
> Filling in as a third installer on larger installation jobs
> Working together to keep a clean and organized shop environment
> Following safety procedures
> Welding and/or sewing will be an advantage, but we're willing to train the right person.

Qualifications:
> Mechanical aptitude is necessary
> Experience with basic hand tools: take measure, chop saws, band saws, and/or grinders
> Dependable
> Team player
> Valid driver's license
> Must be able to stand for long periods of time and frequently lift around 80lbs
> Motions including bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and stretching
> Occasional work done on a ladder

Education:
High School diploma (or equivalent)
