Hello, Chasers!
Just a reminder about this weeks meeting.

Our next meeting will be this Thursday the 25th at 7:00 PM in CL464. This week we will look at severe weather parameters and let you get some forecasting experience. Also, we talk about the up and coming conferences. If you can not make the meeting let me know if you are interested in any of the conferences.

Conferences:
1) The Central Indiana Severe Weather Symposium is coming up in March. Registration has already begun and is $20 for students until the end of the month. After the end of the month, registration will be $25 for students. This includes parking and lunch. I highly recommend attending and I will be able to take people with me. If you don't have a ride and are wanting to go, message me back ASAP and we can work something out. Dr. Call our Faculty Advisor for the Storm Chase Team will be presenting at this year's symposium, along with meteorologist from NWS IND, Dr. Dan Dawson, James Spann (well known/respected Broadcast Meteorologist), and a few others.

2) Conference #2 Iowa Severe Storms and Doppler Radar Conference is also coming up at the end of March. This is by far my favorite conferences to go to. This year Dr. Josh Warman, Bill Reed, and a few others will be speaking at this year's conference. This is still in the works as I still got to talk to Dr. Hitchens on getting details of how we want to split hotel costs, NWA members get a discount for the conference, university van transportation and other stuff regarding the conference. We will hold a meeting with the BSU Weather Society sometime soon with all the information and costs of going to this 3-day conference.

***I have not ordered T-shirts yet. I received a few emails from people who still want to bring me money for a t-shirt. Please bring it to me before the end of the month. I will order shirts the first week of February. I am also missing shirt sized for a few people. I will contact them soon on getting the needed information. I attached the front and back of this year's t-shirt designs for anyone who is interested in still purchasing t-shirts. The cost is $20 this is for both the shirt and membership.***

Storm Chase meeting next Thursday in CL 464 at 7:15PM. We will talk about storm chasing ethics and safety.

After this meeting we would like to start getting everyone certified as a Skywarn Spotter, this is one of the requirements needed to be able to chase with us whenever we get an active period of severe weather. If you would like you can go ahead and do the training online, the link is provided below. This would be something we would take time to do the meeting after this one. All I need is a copy of the certificate at the end of the training. You can either print it out and drop it off in the MetLab or send it to our email or wait for the next meeting when we do the training.

If you have done the Skywarn Training provided by the NWS then you do not need to take this training course online. I will just need to verify your training.

T-Shirts: I will start making graphics within the next week or so and we will vote on the graphics that I have made.
