Catskill Park Trail Conditions for the weekend of December 27, 28, and 29.

This week’s trail conditions are sponsored by Sullivan Catskills. Expect muddy trail conditions with possible icy sections in some areas and snow at higher elevations.

Cloudy skies and rain showers move into the Catskills this weekend as we close out 2024. Temperatures will be milder than last weekend, with temperatures ranging from the low-40s to low-50s. We kick off the weekend on Friday with intervals of clouds and sunshine. Winds will be light and variable and the high will reach near 40°F. Cloud-coverage increases later into Friday evening with lows around 28°F and continued calm winds. Saturday is expected to be cloudy, again, with rain showers early. The high will reach near 41°F with calm winds and a 60% chance of rain. Saturday night will see rain showers early, becoming a steady rain later into the night. Overnight temps will settle around 39°F with continued calm winds and a 70% chance of rain. Rain sticks around for most of the day on Sunday. Calm winds continue, and daytime temps will be warmer, with a high near 52°F expected. We could see up to half an inch of rainfall. Sunday evening will see rain throughout the evening with overnight temps settling around 46°F and up to an inch of rain. Higher elevations will be cooler.

Catskill Park Trail Conditions for the weekend on December 13, 14, & 15.

This week’s trail conditions are sponsored by Price Chopper Supermarkets. Expect slippery and snowy trail conditions this weekend with possible icy sections.

We’re in store for crisp and clear hiking conditions this weekend in the Catskills—but be aware that trails may be muddy in sections due to warmer temperatures and sustained rain earlier in the week. Temperatures will range from the low teens to the mid-30s, so layer up! We’ll kick things off with sunny skies on Friday, with highs reaching 28°F and light west-northwest winds at 5-10 mph. Friday night will be mostly clear and chilly, with lows around 12°F and calm winds. Saturday continues the sunny trend, with mainly clear skies and highs near 33°F. Winds will remain light and variable. Saturday night brings a few more clouds but stays dry, with lows dipping to around 16°F. Sunday starts with a mix of sun and clouds, but clouds will increase as the day progresses. Expect highs near 35°F with light south winds at 5-10 mph. Sunday night will turn snowy, with scattered flurries becoming a steady accumulation later. Lows will hover around 29°F, and about an inch of snow is expected. Higher elevations will be cooler.

Catskill Park Trail Conditions for the weekend of November 8, 9, and 10.

This week’s trail conditions are sponsored by Adams Fairacre Farms, Inc. Expect generally favorable trail conditions this weekend, with possible muddy sections in low-lying areas, especially on Sunday.

Mostly sunny skies are on tap for the Catskills this weekend until Sunday, when we’ll see occasional and much-needed rain showers. Daytime highs will range between 52°F to 62°F, and overnight lows between 32°F to 46°F. We begin the weekend on Friday with abundant sunshine and clear skies. We’ll see a high near 62°F with 10-20 mph WNW winds. A few clouds roll in on Friday evening with overnight temps settling around 34°F and 10-20 mph NNW winds. Clear, sunny skies return on Saturday. The high will reach near 52°F with 5-10 mph NW winds. Saturday evening skies will be partly cloudy. We’ll see overnight temps dropping to 32°F with light and variable winds. Skies turn mostly cloudy on Sunday with afternoon rain showers expected. The high will reach near 53°F with 5-10 mph SSW winds and a 40% chance of rain. Sunday evening will remain cloudy with occasional rain showers throughout the night. Temps overnight will be around 46°F with light and variable winds and a 80% chance of rain. Higher elevations will be cooler.

Pleasant weather conditions are on tap for the Catskills this weekend with mostly sunny skies expected with the exception of Saturday, where we will see intervals of clouds and sun. Fall foliage will be generally past peak conditions in most of the Catskills with some pops of color still visible. We’ll see daytime highs between 53°F to 61°F, and overnight lows ranging from 29°F to 45°F. We begin the weekend on Friday with abundant sunshine. The high will reach near 61°F with pleasant light and variable winds. Friday evening skies will turn mostly cloudy early with partial clearing later into the night with overnight temps settling around 45°F with winds remaining light and variable. Saturday will see a mix of clouds and sun. The high will reach near 57°F with 10-20 mph WNW winds. Saturday evening will be partly cloudy. We’ll see overnight temps dropping to 33°F with 5-10 mph NW winds. Sunny skies return on Sunday with a few afternoon clouds. We’ll see the high reaching near 53°F with 5-10 mph WNW winds. Sunday evening will be partly cloudy. Expect a colder overnight temp with a low near 29°F and light and variable winds. Higher elevations will be cooler.

Catskill Park Trail Conditions for the weekend on October 18, 19, and 20.

This week’s trail conditions are sponsored by Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. Expect generally favorable trail conditions this weekend, with possible muddy sections especially in low-lying areas and a dusting of snow at higher elevations.

Say it ain’t snow! The Catskills are slated for excellent hiking conditions with warmer temps and mainly sunny skies expected throughout the weekend. Beautiful peak foliage can be seen throughout most areas, with crimson, gold, and plum leaves still visible as it makes its way out of the upper elevations of the Catskills. While there isn’t snow in the forecast, you’ll notice higher elevations kissed with a dusting of snow right now though. We’ll see daytime highs between 66°F to 72°F, and overnight lows ranging from 42°F to 48°F. We begin the weekend on Friday with clear skies and abundant sunshine. We’ll see a high near 66°F with 5-10 mph NNW winds. Friday evening skies will remain mostly clear with overnight temps around 42°F. Winds will be light and variable. Saturday will be clear and sunny. The high will reach near 70°F with light and variable winds expected. Saturday evening will again remain clear. We’ll see overnight temps dropping to 42°F with light and variable winds continuing. Expect sunny skies again on Sunday. It’ll be warm with the high reaching near 72°F with more light and variable winds. Sunday evening will be generally clear with a few passing clouds. Overnight temps will settle around 48°F with light and variable winds. Higher elevations will be cooler.
