Merry Christmas to you all, from Mount Morris Lights!
We are devastated that we couldn't make it happen this year, but I'm feeling good about next year! I won't bore you with the negatives that overcame the positives this year. You all, no doubt, have your own. But hold each other, and show love, and hopefully we will be back to help spread cheer!
Sincerely,
Stephen and Tara

This is just a feeler... Don't get too excited. We have a new computer system incoming and I currently have free time. We are guaging interest in a potential return of the lights this year!

There are damaged lights that we probably could not have repaired ($$) in time for this year. As such...

I am seeking sponsorships from local businesses to get us up and running. I will add sponsored by credits at the beginning of each show and include a short commercial/message from the sponsor before the last track (you know the one). This would be VERY reasonably priced as I am only looking for $500 to build an all new show, and another $500 to maintain equipment. I am also looking for 1 or 2 younger people who might like to volunteer to help on setup weekend. Give us your thoughts below, and feel free to pm me for details!

2018 Update!

MOUNT MORRIS LIGHTS IS TAKING A YEAR OFF!
WE WILL RETURN NEXT YEAR, BETTER THAN EVER!

My apologies for the late notice, but sometimes you tend to put off things that may disappoint someone... and we stand to disappoint hundreds, including Santa and Mrs. Claus, who had been planning to stop in this year and meet our guests. (Don't worry... They'll be here next year!) Many may have reasoned this already by the lack of any decoration thus far. There are several reasons for this. There were more damaged lights at the end of last year's winter storms than ever before. Another controller needs to be replaced. I still need to rebuild the show computer. I have new lights that still aren't fully integrated into every song, and other brand new lights, ready to go, that we haven't even added yet. I plan to rebuild all the shows, pruning lesser songs and making space for a special show where songs will play randomly from throughout the night, as well as two new Pentatonix shows. I was out of town for work for all of September and October, so this was simply not possible. Further, I can't justify the financial expenditure this year while my roof is in need of repair. All of these things I intend to resolve this coming year. This will also, coincidentally, allow us to spend Christmas with family and friends for the first time in the 15 years we've been in New York.

In the mean time, I can't recommend enough a visit to our friends at D'Amico's Christmas Lights - http://www.damicoschristmaslights.com/ - up the road in Nunda, or Fargo Road Lights over near Batavia.

Have a great Christmas, a great New Year, and we'll see you in 2019!
Stephen and Tara

Just three nights left to enjoy Mount Morris lights!

Sorry.... Was doing holiday stuff today and never realized that the power flickered at some point. The lights are now up and running.

Merry Christmas from Mount Morris Lights!

In case anyone is wondering why one of the trees is staying lit at about 50% intensity... Yes, another channel on that controller has started acting up. It's that same problem that ultimately led to the delay in starting this year. Unfortunately, it's probably too far in at this point to fix. It's not a huge deal. Lights are running fine. But, if you are one, like me, who is distracted by it.... My apologies. We'll get it fixed before next year.

Remember... there is different music playing throughout the night, and the track from Nightmare Before Christmas plays before most shows.

Mount Morris Lights is up and running starting tonight! Thanks for your patience. See you at the shows! (Now through New Year's Day.)

An update as promised...
We had a controller malfunction that delayed the start of the shows this year. One bad channel left us with not enough channels to run. Thankfully, we were able to procure another one very quickly, and completed setup without too much delay. In the process, however, it became clear that we could streamline our set up and take advantage of the good channels on the controller that had the bad channel. The unfortunate byproduct of rearranging the controllers was that programming changes had to be made. This unfortunately takes time, which I did not have. This has since been completed as of this morning. So where we stand now is everything is runnable and functioning. We have only a few flaws left to work out. There are four strings throughout the set up that are only half lit. See if you can spot them. Those will eventually be fixed. There are also only eight channels of white programmed on the Mega Tree, but we now have channels for all 16. That programming should be done before Christmas. While I'm talking about white lights on the mega tree, I should point out that we have gone all LED with them this year. That's a nice upgrade. We also completely rebuilt the middle leaping arch with its attached Marty fan. And the last thing to be completed, is that we have two new features for the shows this year... some little cafe lights in the tree canopy up front, and flashing colored lights for the 10-foot trees. Unfortunately, these too have to be programmed, which I hope to achieve before Chrismas weekend. So, that's where we stand. Thank you for your patience, and I'll see you soon!
