Its the little things ✨

We're in love with the engraving on our flutes. Every model A12 and above is painstakingly hand engraved, making every instrument one of a kind. Custom engraving is available, upon request.

“From the first moment I played my Altus flute, the intonation felt natural, and the technical barriers that once held me back simply faded away. I am finally free to explore the flute’s full range of colors, timbre, and expression. My Altus flutes give me the ease and flexibility to bring my voice to life,”

Altus Flutes is pleased to welcome flutist Dr. Julia Barnett as our newest artist ambassador! An active performer and educator based in Southern California, Barnett is dedicated to expanding the classical flute repertoire by championing contemporary Mexican and Latin American composers through performance, research, and collaboration.

Barnett performs on the Altus 1707PS (PSII), 821SE Alto Flute, and 823 Bass Flute. Her performance career includes appearances with the San Diego Symphony, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, and UCLA Symphony, along with eight-year tenures with both the Midland/Odessa Symphony and Chorale and the Billings Symphony. Her upcoming debut album, featuring contemporary Mexican flute music, will be released on Urtext Digital Classics.

Altus Flutes is proud to welcome Dr. Barnett to their esteemed roster of artists!

What a beautiful evening in Phoenix! We were proud to support Altus Artist Viviana Guzman Flutist's Masterclass and Recital at the Arizona Flute Society earlier this month. It was wonderful to see the flute community come together in such a meaningful way!

Thank you to the Arizona Flute Society and AFS President Amber Walker for a weekend of beautiful playing!

Momentum is building - speak out now. The deadline to contact your representatives is Aug 27!

Altus Flutes USA and Azumi Flutes are honored that both the and the American Bandmasters Association are sharing the resources we developed to help explain the potential effects of brass tariffs on music education.

If you haven't reviewed the information yet, now is the perfect time to learn how these changes could impact students, educators, schools, and communities.

A message from Altus Flutes and Azumi Flutes to our music education community 🎶🪈

We want to bring your attention to federal proposals that could raise the cost of musical instruments and make music education harder to access for students everywhere.

New tariffs on imported brass instruments, plus ongoing reviews by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), could drive up costs for instruments, replacement parts, and equipment that school music programs depend on.

Here's how that could show up in real life:
- Higher instrument rental & purchase costs
- More pressure on school music budgets
- Delayed replacement of aging instruments
- Bigger financial burden on families
- Fewer students able to participate

This is really about opportunity. Music education helps students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. When it costs more to participate, fewer students get that chance.

Want to help? Share your story with your elected officials. Personal stories from educators, parents, and school leaders are some of the most powerful tools for showing policymakers the real impact of these decisions.

We've made it easy to get your voice out there. Letter templates for educators, parents, and retailers, plus a full list of congressional contacts, are linked here:https://academicalliance.com/protect-student-access-to-music-education/, as well as in our bio.

Let's keep music accessible for every student. 🎶

What a wonderful few days at The National Flute Association this year! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and made our time in Portland so amazing 🌸🎶The National Flute Association Convention never fails to remind us why we love this community so deeply - and this year was no exception.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, tried the gold flute, admired the Azumi bedazzled flute, and joined us at the photo booth! It was a joy to share these instruments with so many passionate flutists.

We are also thrilled to share, Fleautiful, AKA Meret Bitticks, will be serving as the Assistant Program Chair for ! Congratulations Merett - a well deserved honor!👏

This time next year?
