Ohio Senior Olympics The Ohio Senior Olympics is the organization sanctioned by the National Senior Games Association to oversee the Senior Games movement in Ohio.

Senior Olympics is open to men and women ages 50 and older. Senior Olympics began in Ohio in 1979. The games have grown over the years, but the purpose remains the same - to promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity for Ohioans age 50 and over and to provide top quality athletic competition. Regional games are held each year at sites around Ohio. The sponsoring organization of each regional games determines which events will be offered as well as the schedule and fees for those events. Since each games exists autonomously, events offered around the state vary. Most regional games offer at least some of the events from the schedule of events of The National Senior Games, in addition to favorite events of the region. In addition to regional/local games, each year there is a state Senior Olympics competition, called Ohio Senior Olympic State Games. The State Games are held annually in Central Ohio and open to all athletes competing at the regional/local level. Ohio's state games are also open to athletes from outside of Ohio. At a minimum, the State Games offer a near full event menu of The National Senior Games. The State Games that take place in even numbered years act as the qualifying competition for The National Senior Games, which are held every two years, in odd numbered years. To compete at The National Senior Games athletes must compete and qualify in their chosen event. Qualifying criteria varies from event to event, but is established in advance of the qualifying State Games by The National Senior Games Association. The Senior Olympics movement in Ohio is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is composed of games coordinators from around the state and "at-large" representatives. The Board of Directors meets quarterly to discuss games' business and set policies for the statewide movement.

🌽 Co****le Wrapped Up Our 2026 Season! 🥇

Co****le was our final event of the season, and what a perfect day it was! ☀️ We can't thank the Ashville Kernhole League enough for hosting the Ohio Senior Olympics and helping us finish the season on a high note!

We had 52 men and women tossing bags and going for the gold in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles! 🏆

Congratulations to all of our athletes for an amazing turnout and a fantastic day of competition! Thank you for being part of the Ohio Senior Olympics and showing us what it means to be FOREVER IN THE GAME! ❤️🤍💙

🏐 VOLLEYBALL BROUGHT THE HEAT! 🏐

The courts at Cedar Point Sports Center were filled with action on September 20 as we hosted 19 men’s and women’s teams from four states! 💪🏐

More than 140 athletes came ready to compete, go for the GOLD 🥇, and earn their spot at the 2027 National Senior Games presented by Humana in Tulsa, Oklahoma!

Congratulations to all of our athletes and teams on an incredible day of competition. Your passion, sportsmanship, and determination are what make the Ohio Senior Olympics so special!

Our last few events were jam-packed with Basketball 3x3 and Shooting Skills, and we had an incredible time watching our athletes compete for the GOLD! 🥇

We welcomed 14 teams from 4 different states for a full day of competition at the fantastic Cedar Point Sports Center in Sandusky, Ohio. The energy, teamwork, and competitive spirit were amazing!

Our Shooting Skills athletes put their skills to the test in both Free Throw and 3-Point competitions, showing us that you’re never too old to keep working on your game! 🎯🏀

Congratulations to all of our athletes and teams on an outstanding day of competition! We are so proud of everyone who came out, competed, supported one another, and showed what it means to be FOREVER IN THE GAME! ❤️💪

Congratulations to all of our athletes! We are proud of every athlete who competed, challenged themselves, supported fellow competitors, and showed us what it means to be Forever in the Game.

Great day for the 2026 Ohio Senior Olympics Shuffleboard events at the beautiful Lakeside, Ohio. The smiles, the sunshine and great camaraderie. We had athletes from 4 different states who joined us.
