Flashback To the Con Band Announcement: Disorder, A tribute to the sounds of Joy Division doing a special Joy Division + New Order set!
Disorder, the premier tribute to the sounds of Joy Division, was conceived in April of 2012. The basic idea, to recreate Joy Division’s inspirational catalog of music, and iconic post punk sound with an unwavering focus on authenticity and live performance. As much as Disorder has evolved over the years, that simple mission statement remains unchanged.
In a sea of tribute bands around the world, Disorder is unmatched in their ability to harness the true and unbridled passion of Joy Division. Disorder’s energetic and emotional live performances are no simple generic interpretation of an iconic music catalog. How Joy Division played it, is how Disorder plays it. There is no compromise. From the audience, one can close their eyes and get lost in this masterful recreation of Joy Division and New Order music, feeling as if they have stepped back into a 1980’s smoke filled Hacienda.
Disorder has spent many years sharing their passion for all things Joy Division and New Order with the amazing people of New York City. In recent years the band has started to take their live show on the road, and have been rewarded with much success for their tireless efforts and honest passion. The band has had the honor of providing support for major label acts such as Modern English, Dead Can Dance, and David J of Bauhaus. Disorder was also chosen to host a CMJ afterparty for New Order at BB Kings in Times Square NYC.
A recent quote from one of our show goers: “Wow, wow, wow... The first time I’ve ever seen Disorder, and you did not disappoint! The intensity and musical acumen was appreciated by this Joy Division fan. I can’t wait to see you again!”
