WHAT AN EVENT......
Da Cajun Trading Card Convention
When I first started putting this together, I was told by many locals that nobody would show up… that there wasn’t a trading card community here.... This wouldn't work here....
So let’s start with this:
Over 1,300 people showed up.
1,300 people came to the Patterson Civic Center.
1,300 people supported a trading card convention.
1,300 people were part of the Da Cajun Trading Card Convention.
I met people who drove in from Atlanta, Houston, and all across the region—Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Mississippi—just to be here. That right there speaks volumes.
As someone who organized this event on my own, my goal was simple — create the best possible experience for vendors and attendees, while keeping things affordable and welcoming for families.
And I can confidently say… I accomplished that.
I’ve been to dozens and dozens of shows, and I can confidently say—we had an incredible vendor lineup. Every single one brought something special, and it showed all day long.
Vendors and attendees aren’t just happy… they’re already DEMANDING a ROUND TWO—and that tells me everything I need to know.
Attendees walked in and left with smiles on their faces.
The energy, the excitement, the disbelief that something like this could happen here — it filled the entire building.
A huge shoutout to my sponsors who believed in my vision from the very beginning. Your support—whether through donations, resources, or simply trusting the process—helped turn this idea into a full reality. This event does not happen without you, and I’m forever grateful for each and every one of you.
I also want to give a special shoutout to The Mission Church—my home church—who ran the concessions and absolutely knocked it out the park. They were some of the most organized people there, represented Christ-like values, and showed the community nothing but love. They even went above and beyond by delivering food directly to vendors.
Now let’s be real for a moment…
This event was built off months of work and promotion that I carried on my own. Support locally was quiet, and opportunities to collaborate came far too late.
But even with that — I made it happen anyway.
I also want to make it clear—I didn’t pay or have ANY radio ads or marketing campaigns. Every bit of promotion came from me—attending and promoting at a total of 41 other events, placing 30+ signs across a 70-mile radius, and pushing this hard and consistently on Facebook every single day.
Huge shoutout to KWBJ TV 22 for being the one media outlet that believed early and helped push this vision forward.
And just imagine…
If more had gotten behind this from the beginning, this could have been even bigger.
But what matters is this:
To hear from vendors — from all over — that this was one of the most organized shows they’ve ever been a part of…
To know this was built from the ground up…
To see it all come to life…
That’s something I’ll never forget.
From the bottom of my heart —
thank you to every vendor, every attendee, and every single person who supported this event.
For those who chose not to attend… you missed out. And that’s just the truth.
You missed out on being part of a record-breaking event for the Tri-City parish. History was made.
This wasn’t just a 75 table convention…
This was a statement.
And we’re just getting started..... 😉
