SCAR
All the Way × Main Man × Here’s the Deal
Bred by: Kyle, Lynsee, Kashton, and Kodee Pullen
• The mate sister to SCAR was a multiple-time Top 5 finisher on the jackpot circuit, Champion Bred & Owned at The Exposition, Reserve Grand Bred & Owned at NJSS, and Grand Champion Gilt Overall at Cass County.
• Another mate barrow was also a multiple-time Top 5 finisher on the jackpot circuit.
• The “Here’s the Deal” sow, known as Sharkbite, was purchased from Nate Meyers at NJSS in 2022 and has become our foundation female. She produced the many-time Grand Overall barrow shown by the Bell family last summer, as well as the successful Redden gilt.
• The Main Man sow produced the red gilt shown by the Pullen boys last summer, who was also a multiple-time Top 5 jackpot winner.
People run into “luck” every now and then — and that’s exactly how I’d write this story.
One evening, KP and I were visiting on the phone about looking for red boars this summer. He said, with a little hesitation, “I think we’ve got a pretty good one we raised sitting at home… but he’s got a situation.” That sure caught my attention — and as hot as the Pullen firm has been, I was in the truck and headed north the very next evening.
Certain animals you encounter as a stockman give you that unforgettable “first impression” look — the kind you can describe and remember for the rest of your life. SCAR sure did that to us.
His square, natural stance; true build; stout features; square shape; and moderate, proportional design are exactly how I’d describe him from the moment he spooked across the pen the night I first laid eyes on him.
SCAR combines his daddy’s feature, skull, length of body, and build with that trademark lineage of moderate stature, presence, a powerful chest floor, and a big, shapely body that gives you that easy-fleshing look.
Scars are marks left for a lifetime — let SCAR be the one to leave his mark on your herd forever.
We cannot thank our good friends, the Pullen family, enough for giving us the opportunity to co-own and house this specimen at our farm!
