This Sunday at the Hub!!

This Spring we had two groups working on musical theater performance and they are excited to share their show choir songs with you! The evening will include two choreographed songs by our Junior Show Choir (5th-8th grade) and three songs by our Senior Show Choir (9th-12th Grade). The Junior program was taught this Spring by Sadie Jones and Sierra Norford and our Senior program was taught by Stefanie Weigand and Kianna Bromley. We are excited to announce that FALL 2026 Show Choir will run September through January and will be lead by the esteemed Stefanie Weigand! Keep your eye out for more details!

An Evening of Broadway, a benefit concert featuring Hub President and Founder Kianna Bromley.

Kianna is not just the driving force behind the Hub. She is a professional theater artist who has spent her career in and around performing arts spaces. On June 10th, she takes center stage to do what she does best: perform.

Through musical theater songs woven together with the story of how the Hub came to be, Kianna will share the journey, the setbacks, the breakthroughs, and the people who showed up at every turn. Backed by a live pit band featuring Nate Venet, Rich Magnuson, and Geoff Kim, this is the kind of evening that reminds you why it all matters.

The evening will take you through the full Hub campus, so you can see everything this community has built together.

Next week at the Hub!!

Featuring Journalist Erica Heilman

Conflict of Interest (LIVE!) is a new in-person interview series at the Montpelier Performing Arts Hub in Montpelier. Guests and newsmakers from around Vermont and the country will get beneath the headlines and cable TV slop to speak deeply about their field. Housing, health care, politics, Big Tech, wealth and power. Long-time media character Kevin Ellis interviews the major newsmakers about what drives them, how they see today’s world and how they keep going. The monthly podcast invites audience questions. The goal is community and connection about the big issues facing Vermont and the country. Part interview and part history lesson about the stuff you won’t see or hear on cable TV.

Erica Heilman produces a podcast called Rumble Strip. Her shows have aired on NPR’s Day to Day, Hearing Voices, SOUNDPRINT, KCRW’s UnFictional, BBC Podcast Radio Hour, CBC Podcast Playlist and on public radio affiliates across the country. Rumble Strip airs monthly on Vermont Public. She lives in East Calais, Vermont.

BLACKOUT: HOW I BECAME WHITE IN AMERICA
Written & performed by Ethelyn Friend

“In the wake, the past that is not past reappears, always, to rupture the present.” Christina Sharpe, In The Wake: On Blackness and Being

A middle-aged trust fund baby inadvertently discovers the origins of wealth in her family and falls into a game of hide and seek with US history. A solo performance reflecting one white woman’s process of facing her direct links to slavery. A somatic, musical, and theatrical exploration of denial, guilt & response. This performance directly addresses “white America“. All are welcome. The 90 min show is followed by (optional) facilitated community processing and conversation.

70% of all proceeds will go to local Racial Justice Organizations and Reparations Initiatives
