It is with great excitement that I announce Amanda Guffey as our new Venue Coordinator & Property Host at Old Glory Schoolhouse!

Amanda brings more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources and Payroll, where she built a reputation for exceptional customer service, professionalism, and a genuine passion for helping others. Throughout her career, Amanda has not only served employees and customers with excellence but has also formed countless friendships and relationships that have become like family.

Her warm personality, attention to detail, and natural ability to make people feel welcome make her the perfect fit for this role. Amanda has a gift for creating meaningful connections and ensuring that every guest feels valued, cared for, and supported.

As Venue Coordinator & Property Host, Amanda will be dedicated to helping couples, families, and guests create unforgettable memories at Old Glory Schoolhouse.

What an awesome day for a birthday girl!

Gracie celebrated her Sweet 16 at Old Glory Schoolhouse, surrounded by the people who love her most. Watching families gather to celebrate milestones like this is one of our favorite parts of what we do.

And can we talk about how beautiful she is? Between the gorgeous red dress, the fun décor, and that radiant smile, every photo feels straight out of a magazine.

NOW HIRING — VENUE COORDINATOR / PROPERTY HOST

The Old Glory Schoolhouse is looking for the RIGHT person to join our team 🤍

This is a flexible position ideal for someone who:• Lives close to Old Glory• Loves weddings & events• Is dependable and self-motivated• Enjoys people, decorating, and beautiful spaces• Wants the opportunity to grow with us

Responsibilities may include:• Conducting venue tours• Responding to inquiries/messages• Helping book weddings & parties• Letting clients/vendors into the venue• Checking on the property 2–3 times weekly• Watering flowers/plants if needed• Keeping an eye on the property and notifying us of issues• Cleaning/resetting after events• Assisting during weddings & events• Helping create a beautiful client experience

This is NOT a typical 9–5 position. We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the venue and takes pride in helping keep it beautiful and successful.

MUST:• Be available weekends• Have reliable transportation• Be trustworthy & dependable• Ideally live very close to Old Glory Schoolhouse

Pay includes:• Base monthly pay• Booking commissions• Event/cleanup pay• Growth opportunities for the right person

Wedding/event experience is a plus, but personality, reliability, and initiative matter most. This would be a good side income for a stay at home mom or boutique owner, teachers, air b n b cleaners or other crafty types.

I realized I’ve never really shared the story for everyone… but a while back I purchased the beautiful historic Old Glory Schoolhouse, and it has been such a rewarding project bringing it back to life.

This old schoolhouse has so much character and history, and I’ve loved seeing it filled with celebrations again — baby showers, birthday parties, and special gatherings with family and friends.

We’re now excited to officially offer wedding and event space at Old Glory Schoolhouse for couples and families looking for a unique venue in the Monticello and Lake Cumberland area. The property has that classic vintage charm with plenty of space for weddings, receptions, showers, and private events.

We have continued to restore and improve the property, and as we do seeing people create memories here makes it all worth it. I’m excited to continue sharing the journey and the beautiful events happening here.
