Stop in at Mind Your Business to see an example of a Soap Box Derby car in the front window. Nice simple project for you and your kids, that does not involve video games. Build it and join the Fiesta Derby on June 15.

Other Fiesta week kids activities include the Sunday Fly In, Tuesday Walk for Cancer, Wednesday Sports Night, Thursday Picnic-Kiddie Parade and Carnival, Friday night fireworks, and of course the Saturday Grand Day Parade.

Check out the Fiesta schedule for bingo, free movies, free bowling, kids track meet, heritage hill, pancakes, 5k, free root beer floats, fitness challenge, royalty activities, bouncy houses, petting zoo, games and food.

Fiesta sent home with the grade schoolers and middle schoolers on Friday a Soap Box Derby post card for the parents. Go to Fiesta Website and click on Soap Box Derby tab for the same information.

We are having a "How to build a Derby Car" gathering Thursday night, May 21st at the top of 2nd street hill, 205 Black Oak Ave., 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm (the new garage). If you are not certain how to build a simple derby car, or you just want to stop and talk Derby, see you there. Two derby car examples will be on display.
