We sadly announce that the Lake Sylvia Fall Festival will no longer be held. FOSLS has retired it for good. We had 13 fantastic years and it has just grown too big for this location and for our group. We thank everyone who has participated or attended in the past and we appreciate your continued support of FOSLS and of our State Parks. THANK YOU!

We absolutely could not have done this year's festival without the generous donations by GH Transit and 5Star Dealership of the buses we used to shuttle folks from the Simpson Grade School and the park. GH Transit also donated the driver! We are so grateful for these organizations for their help. THANK YOU!

FOSLS is excited to announce that we served over 125 kids at the Kids Activities Center! This is so important to us because kids are the future stewards of our State Parks. The activities were run by our FOSLS Volunteers Karen VanNoy, Nan Clute, Kerri Neathery, and Leann Plato and Jerry Cote. They all did a fantastic job!

FOSLS thanks all the wonderful vendors, musicians, volunteers and participants who came to the Lake Sylvia Fall Festival yesterday. We had an extremely successful event thanks to all of you. The FOSLS Mission is to ensure the future existence of our local state parks and by the looks of yesterday's participation, our state parks are safe for the near future. Thank you to all of you for your love of our parks and the love of community. We could not do this without all of you! Please keep using and supporting our parks and enjoying the beauty of our back yard so that it will be here for generations to come! Thank you!

We are still in need of some high school student volunteers to help load and unload vendors, load pumpkins, run coffee/food to volunteers and vendors, and sell raffle tickets. We will sign their community service credit sheet and they will get a free lunch, all while having a great time! Contact Trina at 360-482-2551.

Justin Kautzman rounds out the Festival's Music lineup at 1:30 on Sunday. Justin plays for the local rock band Black Shepherd and is a guitarist and songwriter who sings Rock, Blues, Country, Grunge, and the Classics https://www.thedailyworld.com/news/rock-bands-to-bring-down-the-house-in-downtown-aberdeen/
From Matt Wells of the Daily World: ( https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/live-music-thrills-packed-house-at-the-loading-dock/ar-AA1caNtx )
"Kautzman, the guitarist and singer-songwriter for the band, down-stroked riffs and ripped guitar solos that matched Steve Markham’s triple-duty of bass slapping, trumpet playing and backup singing."
Also:
"Justin Kautzman, guitarist and singer for Black Shepherd, shows his love of music with the passion in his face and the music notes tattooed on his left forearm. "
