IMPORTANT UPDATE

We have made a few changes to our Premium List and Class List that you should be aware of prior to show time. Updated versions of both documents can be found at https://phac.ca/coming-events/ ..... Please ensure you have the latest copy.

1. Due to an increase by Evergreen State Equestrian Park, the new nightly RV rate is USD $42.

2. The Performance Division has been expanded to include Champion and Reserve and Champion of Champions classes for each gender (no longer combined G/M/S).

3. We will now allow horses to be ridden "Bitless" in the Versatility Division.

Please help us welcome Vanita Mann to our show. Vanita has agreed to be our show announcer and we are very excited to have her.

It all began with a simple love for the Peruvian horse—one that grew into years of memories with my daughters by my side. From their first moments in the arena to the journey we’ve shared together, these horses have been woven into some of the most meaningful chapters of our lives. And today, that love still lives on through them.

Now, I find myself in a different place in the arena—behind the microphone. Announcing shows has become a passion of its own, allowing me to share the beauty, tradition, and heart of the Peruvian horse with others. What once was a dream to attend shows like the Norte y Sur Championship and the Canadian National has now come full circle—being there, not just as a spectator or exhibitor, but as the voice behind the show. A journey that started with us… and continues in a whole new way.

Please say hello to Pete Arnold, our gate steward for this year's show. You will also be seeing plenty of his lovely wife Michelle who will be helping out with ribbons in the arena.

Hi .... I'm Pete Arnold, from the piney woods of east Texas. My wife Michelle and I live on the shores of Lake o' the Pines - we call ourselves Lake Bums!

I got involved with the Peruvian horses a number of years ago, when Naomi Scull handed me a clipboard and said I was the gate steward! What a learning curve that was!

Michelle and I have a small business, Lake Bum Craft Co. and we sell horse show awards, t-shirts, tumblers and more. I own one retired Peruvian Horse, Lou (Lloron).

I'm looking forward to spending time with the Peruvian Horse family from the NW and Canada!

With the recent increase in fuel prices, the PHAC and NPHC are offering exhibitors a special discount on entry fees. This discount applies only to class entry fees, and does not apply to stall fees, drug testing and office fees etc. Discount levels are noted below.

These discounts are made possible by donations from our sponsors. We would like to thank them for their generosity that allows us to do this.

If your one-way trip is more than 250 miles, your discount will be 12.5%
If your one-way trip is more than 500 miles, your discount will be 25%
If your one-way trip is more than 1000 miles, your discount will be 50%

Please tell the show secretary if you would like to take advantage of the offer upon check in on Thursday. The discount will be deducted from your final bill. *This does not apply to Canadian exhibitors who pay entries at par as noted in the Premium List.

We are also pleased to announce that we have secured a special show rate at the Evergreen Inn for exhibitors and guests. The new average nightly rate is $157 plus taxes. Please mention the Norte y Sur Peruvian Horse Championships when making your reservation to ensure the reduced rate. We encourage everyone to reserve early to avoid a sell out at the hotel.

We are working towards helping ease the burden of "higher than normal costs" and hope to see in Monroe.

We are excited to announce that Norte y Sur Peruvian Horse Championships is now a FULLY APPROVED (NAPHA & PHAC) Show. The Premium List and Class List are available for download on the PHAC website ... visit https://phac.ca/coming-events/ for your copy.

Additional documents (entry form, declarations and other forms) will be coming soon.

All performance divisions at this show will be judged using the PHAC "CALL OF THE CLASS" and is also available on the PHAC website. We highly recommend that you download and review to properly prepare for the performance classes.

Please say hello to our Ring Stewards for this show. We are very excited to welcome both these young ladies to the arena.

Kaia Austin (PHAC Nationals)
I have been part of the Peruvian Horse community from the very beginning, riding my first horse at just six days old and growing up with a deep appreciation for the breed and its traditions. I am an accomplished rider in the show ring, and feel I bring a steady, knowledgeable presence shaped by years of hands‑on experience and a strong foundation in horsemanship.
I am currently a college student in Minnesota pursuing a pre‑medicine track, balancing academic focus with my continued involvement in the horse world. I value the opportunity to serve as ring steward and especially enjoy the experience of being in the ring alongside my dad. I am grateful for the chance to contribute while staying connected to a discipline that has been part of my life since my earliest days.

Paige Eddy (NPHC Regionals)
My name is Paige Eddy, and I am from Rancho Girasoles in California. While this will be my fourth year showing, my family has been breeding horses since 1999. I also enjoy barrel racing around the Peruvian show schedule, as the Peruvians are definitely my favorite! We currently have over 20 Peruvians and around 10 of many other breeds.

SAY HELLO TO OUR LOVELY SHOW SECRETARIES:

ANNIE BARRAZA ~ With my husband Ricardo, we have bred, trained, and shown these beautiful horses for over 35 years, spending many of those years involved in the junior program. I love the camaraderie of the owners, breeders, and exhibitors, not something found in other breeds. I spend more time out on the trails these days than inside the show ring, so this position allows me to continue to support our breed. The best part of being show secretary, however, is that you all must visit me before the show starts…. I look forward to seeing everyone.

JUSTINE EASLON ~ I purchased my first Peruvian gelding in 1988 and have loved this breed ever since then. I have participated in some limited showing, but my favorite riding is on the trails. My husband and I like to take our Peruvians and Jack Russells camping and riding in the mountains of Oregon.
