Monmouth College Theatre

Monmouth College Theatre We are committed to the intellectual, creative and professional development of students by combining The B.A. Three plays and one musical are produced annually.

Theatre curriculum trains students as theatre generalists who possess the full range of skills necessary for a career in theatre. Students graduate from the program able to produce excellent work in all major areas of theatre practice: acting, directing, design, technical, management, and dramaturgy. This broad training is supplemented by concentrated study in one of the following areas: Acting, D

esign and Technology, or Dramaturgy. The department also offers a Theatre Education major, which supplements broad training in theatre with relevant coursework in the Educational Studies Department. This portion of the curriculum facilitates students’ development of a well-rounded understanding of education at the socio-cultural level, and a strong foundation in the theory and practice of pedagogy. The Academic Theatre Season offers ample opportunities for students to apply the knowledge gained through curricular instruction in the context of full productions. Students are eligible for leading roles and design/tech positions beginning in the first year.
