Easton Teague Take JR Main Event Win to Keep the Shootout Tradition Alive !
Blevins, Holston Take Other JR Shootout Class Wins
Paschal & Dotson Score BIG CAR wins
Everything got kicked off on Friday Night, with the annual Halloween JR Dragster Heads-Up 7.90 race. Taking his first Farm win was Dylon Blevins of Wytheville, VA defeating Hudson Edwards of Boiling Springs, SC. Lane Morgan and Adeline Porcho were the semi-finalist. It ain’t being greasy David Spaugh drove Southside Ray’s Golf Kart to the Pit Vehicle race win over Spencer Furman and his dad.
The 27th Annual JR Dragster Shootout would see third generation drag racer Easton Teague of Hildebran, NC take the $2K victory over Afton, TN’s Adeline Porcho. Easton used a .001 Reaction time and 7.92 ET off a 7.90 dial-in to hold off Adeline’s .025 RT with a 7.94 ET off a 7.90 dial final run. Easton’s grandfather had won two BIG 5 second Shootout titles back in the lat ‘80’s for him to keep the family Shootout winning tradition alive. The Wilson Hauling 7 to 12 year Kids winner Colin Holston of Wytheville, VA was the lone semi-finalist in the Main Event.
Holton picked up the 7 to 12 age title by defeating 7.90 winner Dylon Blevins. Taking the 7 to 12 year class dash for cash was Alden Calvert of Spartanburg, SC and the older groups dash winner was 2025 Farm Champion Gunner Abernathy of Harmory, NC. In the Big Car action T.J. Paschal of Pleasant Garden, NC drove his Race Tech Dragster to the TOP Eliminator win defeating Richland, VA’s Seth Street in the family’s Chevy S-10. Dallas Calvert of Spartanburg, SC was the lone semi-finalist in his Dragster.
Will Dotson of Saluda, NC drove his Chevy S-10 to the Foot Brake victory over Allan Estergomy of Mooresville, NC in his Ford Mustang. Brett Myers of Clemmons, NC and Carson Robbins of Walnut Cove, NC was semi-finalist.
Today will finish up SHOOTOUT weekend, with the running of the 41st Annual BIG 5 second Shootout for 0 to 5.99 cars.
