Mark your calendars: Son of a Sailor Fest returns September 26th 2026!

As if great music, good times, and Gulf Coast vibes weren't enough, SOS Fest 2026 will coincide with the grand opening of the highly anticipated Jimmy Buffett Son of a Son of a Sailor Experience. This permanent living tribute to the life and music of Buffett will feature over 130 artifacts, never before seen footage and photos, and an immersive concert experience beautifully curated at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf.

Don’t miss tomorrow’s second line parade!

When: SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH
Gather/Pregame at lobby bar: 12pm
Line up: 1PM
Parade Kick-Off: 1:30PM

Where: Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel - 64 S Water Street, Mobile, AL 36602

In true Mobile Mardi Gras fashion, we’re kicking off Saturday’s festivities with a high-energy Second Line Parade lead by Lucy Buffett and Blow House Brass Band. Don your best parrot head get up, deck out your golf cart, and jump in the conga line to Cathedral Square. Are you a musician? Well then bring that guitar, trumpet, or kazoo and make some noise with us!

Get there early and Join us at the Renaissance lobby bar and outdoor plaza bar to get together like a proper Buffett tailgate!

We will have our Costume Contest sign up at the the parade line-up so make sure to be in the second line if you want to enter into the costume contest!

Then, join the parade for a festive and lively march through the streets of old Mobile!

Note: Golf carts will not be permitted in the valet zone. Please park on golf carts in on-street street parking or in adjacent hotel parking garage.
