Some words don’t translate. Duende is one of them.

It’s the elusive, goosebump-raising surge of emotion flamenco artists chase. The moment a performance becomes more than sound and turns into feeling. This weekend, fiery flamenco meets Jimi Hendrix classics in “A Flamenco Celebration of Jimi Hendrix,” featuring the Juanito Pascual Trio and Zorongo Flamenco. NPR called Juanito Pascual “one of the hottest flamenco guitarists in recent years.”

Flamenco is centuries old. Jimi Hendrix is timeless.

Bring the Hendrix fan in your life to a show that bridges generations: the parent who wore out the vinyl, the friend who air-guitars at every party, or the kid discovering Hendrix for the first time.

Juanito Pascual Trio and Zorongo Flamenco send Hendrix’s songbook through flamenco’s fire with nylon strings, stomping heels, palmas, and voice. NPR called Juanito Pascual “one of the hottest flamenco guitarists in recent years.”

Flamenco 101: here’s what you’re actually watching at a flamenco show.

• Toque: the guitar, rhythm, melody, and bold improvisation.
• Baile: the dance, precise footwork, dramatic lines, and movement that answers the music.
• Cante and palmas: the song and handclaps, voices and rhythmic patterns that guide and energize the performance.

At A Flamenco Celebration of Jimi Hendrix, the Juanito Pascual Trio and Zorongo Flamenco bring these three elements together in a fiery live performance inspired by Hendrix’s music.
