On February 15, the Bethlehem Music Series audience savored an elegant musical feast, witnessing the remarkable talents of the Mirandola Ensemble as if literally present in the floating city of Venice, Italy.

Enveloped by sounds from Frescobaldi, Monteverdi, Gabrieli, Merulo, we were swept away with the elegance, sophistication, and purity of the Renaissance era. The menu was extremely varied with different combinations of instruments -- violin, viola da gamba, sackbut (early trombone), portative organs, and many configurations of voices. Mirandola produced a superb tonal quality that was authentic, clean, compelling, and translucent. Sounding like one voice, they still filled the packed space to the brim, while filling our own musical cups. We were indeed honored and privileged to experience early music at its finest!

The Edgar Meyer trio once again captivated the audience with their technical brilliance and artistry, demonstrating how the bass can lead a string trio in ways that break traditional roles. The concert, featuring a Bach sonata and three of Meyer’s own compositions, showcased incredible musical depth, from classical to jazz, all performed with flawless attention to detail. A fabulous Bethlehem Music Series kick off with the Minnesota Symphonic Winds, conducted by Dr. Timothy Mahr. Playing to a packed house, this 90-member band gave a spine-tingling, explosive, and intoxicating performance!

As of 10/27/25, the Edgar Meyer Trio concert is sold out. You may still be able to pick up tickets that are cancelled before the day of the show by checking the Edgar Meyer Trio event page on Eventbrite.

This is a general admission concert—seating is on a first come, first served basis. Doors will open for seating and for the Rush Line at 3 pm on Sunday, November 9. This concert will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel.

We had an exceptional concert last Sunday with Alma Neuhaus and Timothy Lovelace, who put on a varied and impressively executed program of operatic lieder and art songs. After a standing ovation from the near-capacity audience, Alma surprised her mother with a touching encore of "I Wish It So".

This was a special concert not only because of Alma and Tim's beautiful performance, but that Alma grew up at Bethlehem and her love for music was partly fostered at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
