Check it out! Books x + poet for you, tonight, here! >>> Poet 신 선 영 辛善英 Sun Yung Shin will read from her new poetry manuscript, THE NIGHT GARDEN. Afterward, she and writer, researcher and environmental justice activist Shalini Gupta will have a lively conversation on how themes in THE NIGHT GARDEN—disappearance, extinction, mourning, transitions, chance, and the future—intersect with her work finding solutions to our ecological crises that are grounded in people and place, and our economic and social histories. Chapbooks of select poems accompanied by paper-cut images of fauna appearing in the manuscript by graphic designer and artist Alexander Hage will be available for sale and part of the discussion. Sun Yung's poetry, essay, and children's books will also be for sale.

Another shout out to our volunteer Water Tenders — who bring all kinds of knowledge & experience to their work serving water! These three students are brand new to Minnesota & first-time goers! They came out to help & jumped right behind the bar on one of our busiest days — rocking it 💧People who came to Water Bar were happy to share their Minnesota & State Fair tips! 💧Fun Fact: This fall MCAD is partnering with us to launch a new paid fellowship opportunity for MCAD MFA students who want to put their design, illustration, or graphic art skills to work while building relationships with community-based water advocacy projects. 💧Thanks to all who pitched in today, one more day til is a wrap! 💧 💧
