Wow, wow, wow! Thank you ALL for this incredible weekend! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making the 2025 Minnehaha Falls Art Fair so special.

Artists - You make this event what it is. You’re creativity, talent, and passion is contagious. This weekend reminded us just how powerful and necessary art is in our everyday lives.

Musicians - You brought the park to life! From dance lessons to spontaneous kid-led dance parties, your performances didn’t just entertain - they created community.

Food Vendors & Sea Salt Staff - You kept the crowd fueled throughout the weekend with delicious food and welcoming service, making everyone feel the love.

Kids Activity Vendors - You provided the kiddos with fun, artistic outlets throughout the weekend. So many smiles were thanks to you!

Staff & Volunteers - You kept the whole event running smoothly, stepping in wherever needed with care and problem-solving magic. We couldn’t do this without you.

Minneapolis Parks - The trust you put in us and our vendors to take care of this special park does not go unnoticed. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership.

Mother Nature - Thank you for gifting us with a perfect Minnesota summer weekend! We soaked up the sunshine, welcomed the touch of cloud cover, found comfort in the shade of those majestic oak trees, and felt refreshed by the cool mist of the falls. You truly showed off.

And lastly, to our Community, you prove to us time and time again just how deeply the arts matter here in Minnesota. And we are SO excited to share that we are launching a NEW art fair this October to bring us all back together in celebration of the arts!

The City of Lakes Art Fair will be October 11-12, 2025, at Bde Maka Ska - a beautiful new fall tradition in the making!

And artists... applications are open NOW until August 15th so don’t miss your chance you join us at Bde Maka Ska during the autumn foliage!

Out of 200+ amazing artists, these three truly wowed us this weekend:

🎨 Best in Show: A.D. Hogan Art
Aubrey's impasto paintings are thick, textured, and absolutely stunning—like stained glass in acrylic. His bold brushstrokes tell soulful stories and invite you to slow down and feel something real.

🌈 Best Booth: Lily Wenndt Art
Lily’s booth is a burst of color and joy! Her vibrant illustrations mix ink, markers, and digital magic into a space that just makes you want to hang out and smile.

💥 Most Engaging Artists: Third Daughter, Restless Daughter
This sister duo (Wone and Youa Vang) brings joy and personality to every stitch—and to every visitor who steps into their booth. Their pixelated pop-culture fiber art is clever, creative, and just plain fun.

Meet Ben Cooper (), whose photography will help you rediscover the beauty of the world right outside your door. A Minnesota native, Ben uses photography to capture the often-overlooked moments and landscapes that make this state so special.

His work is rooted in a deep appreciation for Minnesota and its incredible arts, architecture, and city life as well as its beautiful lakes and easy access to nature. “I want people to feel like they could walk right in and be part of the scene… to imagine themselves in that spot, at that time, taking it in,” he says.

Originally from Nicaragua, Alvaro Jose (AJ) Aburto () is a potter whose work is deeply rooted in the cultural traditions and landscapes of his homeland. He began his journey with clay making ceramic water filters for Nicaraguan communities and later supported local potters with technical support through ten years of nonprofit work.

Since relocating to Minnesota in 2018, AJ has fused Nicaraguan terracotta techniques with high-fired porcelain, crafting uniquely lightweight dishware that bridges tropical and northern climates. His process involves layering four glazes, rather than a single dip, to evoke the lush greens, deep blues, and earthy tones of Nicaragua. Each piece often includes sculptural details like a bird’s beak spout or a dragonfly perched on a pot, celebrating the vibrant wildlife of the tropical forest.

Meet featured artist Keith Buswell (), a printmaker based in Lincoln, Nebraska, working out of Karen Kunc’s Constellation Studios. Keith uses a variety of printmaking methods, including screen printing, intaglio, and monoprinting, and his work has been exhibited across the U.S. as well as in Egypt, Dubai, France, and Italy.

Originally from Iowa, Keith’s Midwestern roots shape his art in deeply personal ways. “Growing up q***r in the conservative Midwest, I’ve had to find my own community,” he shares. Inspired by research on how trees communicate and support one another through mycelium networks, he chose trees as a recurring subject, stating, “trees utilize fiber-like mycelium to communicate, nourish, and help trees, not only in their own family, but with non-relatives as well, choosing trees as subject matter seemed ideal.” Keith also brings a mindful, eco-conscious approach to the centuries-old craft, etching, using an eco-friendly solution that is not harmful to him or the environment. 🌳
