The 103rd Minerva Homecoming wrapped up with two exciting raffle drawings, and we’d like to congratulate all of our winners!

The first-ever Lion Burger Eating Competition took place earlier this evening at the 103rd Minerva Homecoming!

Eight contestants were selected for the event, and five brave competitors stepped up to take on the challenge. Their mission: eat five Lion Burgers as fast as possible.

After an incredible performance, Bryson Blackburn claimed the title of our inaugural champion, devouring all five Lion Burgers in an astonishing 3 minutes and 32 seconds!

Congratulations to Bryson and all of the contestants who took on the challenge and helped make this new Homecoming event a huge success. A special thank you to the Minerva Lions Club and Edward Jones for sponsoring the competition.

The bar has officially been set. The question now is: Can anyone beat 3:32 next year?

Tonight is the final night of the 103rd Minerva Homecoming, and there’s a lot going on!

Against the Wind, the Bob Seger tribute, takes the stage tonight at 7:30 p.m. Bring your chairs, grab a spot early, and enjoy this beautiful weather with us at Minerva Municipal Park.

Be sure to come hungry and grab a Lion Burger, pick up your Rotary raffle tickets, and check out all the action throughout the evening. AIW Wrestling begins at 6 p.m., the first annual Lion Burger Eating Contest takes place at 7 p.m. near the Lion Burger stand, and the Roxy Duck Race goes bridge-to-bridge at 7:30 p.m. First place wins $200, second place wins $100, and third place wins $50.

All of the ducks have been sold for this year’s race, so thank you to everyone who participated. Good luck to all of our racers—may your duck be the one that crosses the finish line first!

“Attention Homecoming guests! The Minerva Football Alumni Association Co****le Tournament is getting ready to begin in the beer garden area. Registration is open now, and tournament play starts at 6 p.m. Teams consist of two players, and entry is $40 per team. Participants are guaranteed three rounds before tournament play begins, and the winning team will take home 50 percent of the pot. If you’d like to play, head over now and get signed up. Come on down, join the fun, and support the Minerva Football Alumni Association!”

The action returns to the 103rd annual Minerva Homecoming as Absolute Intense Wrestling comes back to Municipal Park, tomorrow, Saturday, June 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. Get ready for an evening of exciting in-ring action featuring the high-flying, hard-hitting style that has made AIW one of the most intense wrestling promotions in the United States.

This event is completely free to attend, so bring your lawn chairs and come enjoy all the excitement during Minerva Homecoming weekend. Be on the lookout for more announcements and additional activities happening throughout the festival!

Don't forget to grab your ducks for the annual Roxy Theatre Duck Race! The race will take place during the Minerva Homecoming, Saturday, June 13, 7:30 p.m., in Sandy Creek!

Ducks are $5 each or five ducks for $20, and first prize is $200, sponsored by Que Pasa; second prize, $100, sponsored by Minerva Rotary Club; and third prize, $50, sponsored by Lions Den Sports Shop.

Get your ducks at the Roxy Booth in the beer garden. All proceeds benefit renovations and programming at The Roxy Theatre.
