My dearest mum. My Hero. A Warrior.
Cancer is taking its toll. Her next round, which doctors affectionately call the “red devil,” and me, “research and development” (R&D), has been postponed.
Unfortunately, my mother is not well enough to meet the rigors of R&D. Not only is her red blood cell count down, but chemo is exacerbating her COPD, causing excessive shortness of breath. With the aforementioned and her age of 72, R&D may not be safe for my mom.
If the case is such that she cannot proceed with the scheduled 12-week second phase of chemotherapy, surgery will be necessary followed by months of radiation.
She is no longer able to work as she is a fall risk and has significant “chemo fog,” as my mum refers to.
We knew cancer would be tough, but we had no idea it’d be this bad.
However, we remain in positive spirits.
Please watch the video below. It serves to be an approximation of a love that can’t be bound. ❤️🩹 🎗️
