We had the best week ever with our campers and staff! Thank you, families, for sharing your children with us!! We are so grateful for the trust you placed in us and already counting down the days until we see you next year!

NEW THIS YEAR: Camp Highlander Legacy Pennants! 💚

This summer, we are starting a brand new tradition! Every camper will receive a beautiful, custom, Camp Highlander pennant - handmade right here by our friends and neighbors at Blue Ridge Pennant Co. - as a way to commemorate our campers’ time on Old Forge Mountain.

But the tradition doesn’t stop there. Each summer, campers will receive a yearly pin to track their years at camp. Plus, special milestones like Honor Camper, Honor Cabin, and end-of-session awards can now be displayed with enamel pins on each campers’ pennant!

For Summer 2026, all enrolled campers will receive their pennant on Closing Day. In future summers, new campers will receive their pennants, while returning campers can add to their collection of pins with their newly collected accolades.

We hope these pennants become a treasured showcase of your camper’s growth, achievements, and time spent on Old Forge. We can’t wait to see these collections grow year after year! 🏕️

In honor of staff week, please let us introduce you to a very important member of our team! Our new Chef & Kitchen Manager, Ateeba! 👏🧑‍🍳🍽️😋

We are SO excited to have Ateeba and his incredible culinary talents to the mountain this summer!! He has been a part of our team since the fall and has filled many roles, but since being back in the kitchen, our staff cannot stop talking about how INCREDIBLE the food is! We even overheard the leadership team this morning saying “it’s like, every meal is the new best meal ever!” And it couldn’t be more true!!

Ateeba & his son joined us for Father Son Weekend a few weeks ago for a perfect way to kick off the summer! Please help us welcome Ateeba and his family into the Highlander Family!! We can’t wait for you all to meet him! 💚🏕️
