***Jim Derr Banquet TICKET Information***

Banquet Date: Thursday, December 3rd @6:30pm at the Sunrise Banquet Hall on St. Rt. 51

Tickets for the Jim Derr Banquet are $30 per person and will be available for purchase beginning November 1st.

There will be a silent auction of various gift packages, a gift card tree, dinner, cash bar, and special guest speakers.

The banquet is open to the community to attend in support of the Alzheimer's Foundation, the wrestling tournament, and the continued support of Betty Derr, wife of Jim Derr.

Tickets for the banquet may be reserved by either calling the Northwood High School Office at 419-691-4651, emailing [email protected], or stopping in the high school office personally during school hours. Payment can be sent to the school with attention to Nick Encheff. Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the event.

Here are the weight class sponsors so far, it is $100 per weight class and the sponsors will be advertised throughout the banquet and the tournament. On December 4th and 5th this year, the 50th Jim Derr Wrestling Invitational Tournament will be held at Northwood High School. It is the longest continuous running high school wrestling tournament in the state of Ohio. It is named after Jim Derr who founded the wrestling program at Northwood, Jim started both the Northwood and Perrysburg wrestling tournaments, was a teacher/coach for 37 years, and impacted many lives both inside and outside the wrestling world.

To celebrate Jim's legacy, the Northwood tournament, and the wrestling community, we are hosting a banquet on Thursday, December 3rd at the Sunrise Banquet in Millbury, OH, more banquet details to come.

Aside from dinner and drinks, the banquet will include guest speakers TBA and a silent auction. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Alzheimer's Association. Jim passed away from complications from Alzheimer's in 2002.

Please share with your friends and family who are fans of the Northwest Ohio wrestling community! Invite friends that are former wrestlers from Northwood High School as we would like them to share old tournament photos to our page!
