Annual Garden Tour

This annual event is a major fundraiser for the Mifflinburg Buggy Museum. The tour was the idea of the late Carol Klose who ran the event for a number of years before her illness and death. It was Carol’s dream to showcase the beautiful gardens and hard work of area residents to benefit the Museum. The Mifflinburg Buggy Museum preserves the home and factory of William and Anna Heiss. William was one of 90 buggy makers in the town, and the only one whose factory remains intact and open to the public. Anna Heiss worked for her husband as a seamstress, was a midwife, a church organist and like many women of the 19th century grew flowers around her home. Later, Anna would add a Victory Garden during World War II. Funds raised by the Garden Tour are used for general operating expenses.
