Find resources at onieproject.org 🏃♀️ Who: The ONIE Project hosts a series of FREE family fun walk/runs annually in October. These events feature a variety of family-friendly activities, including a wellness expo before the 5K walk/run. Where: 5k certified course through Regional Park – 8700 E. We will begin off SE 15th Street, the south side of the park, between Midwest Blvd. & Douglas Blvd. Why
: Midwest City was chosen as the community for this health initiative for a variety of reasons. First, Regional Park is one of the safest accessible parks in the area, offering a variety of family-focused fun. Second, Midwest City is known to be a family-oriented community. The wellness expo will also introduce families to the many health resources Midwest City and the metro area offer. How: The ONIE project is a non-profit organization funded by the USDA through the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. We plan for 1,000 participants at each event. What: Support is needed for participant recruitment, volunteer recruitment, training team hosts, water station sponsors, post-run snack sponsors, entertainment, volunteer and participant T-shirt sponsors, vendors for the wellness expo, area trail map printing sponsors, basket giveaways, and fun items for participant goody bags.
