Today, we pause to remember and recognize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream for his children, and all children, that one day we will “live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” We also honor his vision for freedom of our voices. Freedom of our bodies. Freedom of how we gather, create, and care for one another.
The arts are a form of freedom, and freedom of expression. We like to create space for our community members, to feel and be free to express themselves in the visual arts, music, song, and dance.
Thank you to everyone who showed up with your bodies, your laughter, your moves, and your courage to dance like no one was watching on Friday, January 16. Thank you for turning the room into a living, breathing circle of community! Events like this remind us why dance matters, why the arts matter, and why being together matters. Here's to you, and more to come!
