From Butterfly earrings to tinfoil heroes, from provocative professors to reflective dancers, from portraits come to life to puppets pushed to their death, SEGMENTS: The Orange County Short Film Fest rocked Orange Hall tonight! Thanks to Max Schaefer, mastermind and master of ceremonies and hostess with the mostess for ringleading a great big ole' mishmosh of interesting and different short film fare, and to the jurors and the SUNY Orange Cultural Affairs department for bringing this idea to life! Goodnight all! Now get some sleep and tomorrow go make a short film!

"Yule Log: The Making of a Christmas Legend" by Peter Galipeau, is one of our crazier featured films in the festival. This mockumentary goes behind the scenes of the infamous yule log video designed to make your TV screen a magical holiday fireplace. Tensions rise to absurd heights as this wacky cast of creatives try to change history by filming a burning log!

A celebration of the creativity of local filmmakers will be the central theme at this day-long event during which the films will be screened, will take place in Orange Hall Theatre, on the Middletown, New York, campus of SUNY Orange. The festival will establish the profile of local films in the public consciousness as a mature cultural resource. Each film screening will be followed by a talk back with the filmmakers as well as give an opportunity for networking among film and performing artists.
