200,000 meals. One day. One community showing up.

On September 11 at the Hard Rock Stadium, more than 200,000 meals were packed at this location alone, all being distributed to five local South Florida food banks.

And we were just one part of something much bigger. More than 50 U.S. Hunger meal-packing events took place across the country, bringing people together with one shared purpose: to help end hunger in our communities.

There was something incredibly powerful about standing in a room filled with people working side by side, knowing that every box packed represented meals that will reach someone who needs them.

In a country with so much abundance, the fact that anyone — especially a child — can miss even one meal is mind-boggling to me.

This is what community looks like.
This is what it means to UNITE for good.

There’s something incredibly powerful about being part of an event whose purpose is this simple: feed people.

U.S. Hunger is partnering with the 9/11 Day organization for a massive meal-packing event at Hard Rock Stadium, bringing people together on September 11th with one common goal — packing meals in just 90 minutes that will be distributed to local food banks.

This may not be one of the most glamorous events I’ve worked. There are no elaborate installations or over-the-top production elements. But honestly, none of that matters here.

We live in a country of extraordinary abundance, yet people in our own communities still go hungry. There is simply no reason for that. Food should never be a privilege determined by someone’s circumstances or income.

Today, I’m grateful to be working an event where the most important thing being produced isn’t an experience — it’s impact.

And that feels pretty damn meaningful. 💜
