The next chapter begins now.
For years, this page has been home to Operation Homecoming, where thousands of visitors, hundreds of reenactors, veterans, students, and families came together in Wauseon to experience World War II history firsthand. The memories made there will always be a part of who we are.
Today, we’re proud to announce the beginning of something new.
Welcome to Road to the Rhine.
From May 21–23, 2027, the quiet village of Metamora, Ohio will become the setting for an all-new immersive World War II living history event unlike anything we’ve produced before. Across an entire weekend, visitors will experience authentic encampments, tactical demonstrations, military vehicles, educational displays, and battle reenactments designed to honor the generation that changed the world.
This isn’t just another reenactment.
It’s the next step in our mission to honor veterans, educate future generations, and keep the stories of World War II alive through living history.
Over the coming months, we’ll begin revealing event details, historical features, participating units, special attractions, volunteer opportunities, and much more.
Whether you’ve followed us from Operation Homecoming or are just discovering us for the first time, we’re excited to have you on this journey.
Welcome to Road to the Rhine.
May 21–23, 2027
Metamora, Ohio
History is calling. We’ll see you on the road.
