Toffee season is here!! Hooray!! Thanks to all who supported the Holy Family Craft Fair last Saturday! Just Delightful had record-breaking sales - Whoo HOO! I am now gearing up for the Battlement Mesa Fair next Saturday, November 17. Some pics from the kitchen yesterday: Quality ingredients, a trayful of "naked" toffee before chocolate, and some of Paula's handiwork with packaging some cashew toffee. It is bittersweet to be wrapping up this last season before retirement, but the good news is that Just Delighful LLC is for sale. This includes a small amount of equipment, but more importantly, the recipes and techniques that make these products "Just Delightful". I am hopeful to have some new owners to continue what I have started. If you like to cook and already do some home canning, this may be your new business. Call me at 970-216-1600.

My dear Just Delightful fans,
I am officially announcing that I am retiring from this business at the end of this Christmas season. It has been a great hobby cooking some of my favorite things for all of you to enjoy, but I'm ready for a new phase in my life.

The business is for sale and certainly will include my recipes and personal instruction on making them. I have kept the business within a local realm, but it has great potential for expansion into internet sales for someone motivated to do so.

Looking for something fun to do this Saturday? How about checking out the annual Parachute/Battlement Mesa Christmas Craft Fair!? Over 140 vendors with unique talents and interesting items that just might fit your gift list. It is being held at both the Grand Valley High School and the Recreation Center this year. Just Delightful will be at the High School in the big gym. Please come by and say hi! The fair is on from 9-4, Saturday only.

I've begun making toffee!! First big sales of the season are coming this weekend. Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4 from 9-4 will be the Holiday Boutique at Nancy Hackett's house at 2573 G Road. My Almond toffee, Cashew toffee, and pepper jams will be available there along with Sue Dixon's beautiful creations.

Then, Saturday, November 4, is the huge and wonderful Holy Family Catholic School Craft Fair from 8-3. It is located on the corner of 26 1/2 Road and H Road. I will have my full line of products: Almond toffee, Cashew toffee, pepper jams, fruit jams, and Jalapeno Happiness, those addictive candied pepper slices!

Stop on by and get a sample! We will try our best to tempt your taste buds!

Getting ready for the Palisade Peach Festival!!! This is the 1st prize winning recipe from last year, Peach Bourbon Ginger jam. I'll have several of my crowd-pleasing favorites at the Z's Orchard booth. Hours of the festival are 3-9 on Friday, August 18 and 10-9 on Saturday, August 19. I hope to see you there! Come by and taste the Best of the Fest!

Happy Summer! What a fabulous fruit season we have just starting! Sweet dark cherries are just the beginning, luscious apricots are getting picked, and we are getting a peek of early peaches! How about my fancy cherry pitter??!! 5 at a time works for me. I was busy making some black cherry jam at the Business Incubator kitchen as part of my stock for the Christmas craft fairs. Thank you to my wonderful friends and customers for another super year for Just Delightful LLC! I am winding down quickly for the season as all of my scheduled events are over. The good news is that there still will be some products available until Christmas at the Western Colorado Business Incubator, 2591 Legacy Way, adjacent to the Dept. of Energy complex. Their number is 243-5242 and they are open from 8:30 to 4:30 Monday thru Friday. I have mostly half pound packages of both almond and cashew toffee, and both Kickin' and Kickin' & Screamin' pepper jams. The pepper jams are also available year round at the Grande River Vineyard tasting room store in Palisade.
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and Happy, Healthy New Year! I'll be ready to make my products again next summer, and, yes, we will be making many more batches of Jalapeno Happiness!

Getting ready for the Appleton School Holiday Bazaar! It is my final event of the year, coming up this Saturday, December 3 from 9-2. Appleton is located on H Road, just about a half mile west of the 24 Road intersection. I will have both almond and cashew toffees, both Kickin' and Kickin' & Screamin' pepper jams, and some fruit jams, including chokecherry.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends who follow Just Delightful LLC! I am thankful that you support my small local business. I will be making toffee for a couple more weeks. I need all orders no later than December 3 to make sure I get enough made for everyone. I still have Kickin' and Kickin' & Screamin' pepper jams in stock. Remember that Grande River Vineyard in Palisade is carrying my pepper jams year round! Nice to know in a pepper jam emergency! The guys came this week to haul off an amazing amount of Just Delightful Almond Toffee! But, never fear, I will have plenty for your pleasure at the Parachute craft fair tomorrow. It's from 9-3 at the high school (well marked directions), lots of great artists and crafters, too. Make it girlfriend trip and drive on over. I hope to see you there!

Just Delightful LLC will be at the perennially awesome Parachute Craft Fair this Saturday, November 19 from 9-3. I will have both almond and cashew toffees, prize-winning fruit jams, and pepper jams that make a party in your mouth! The bad news is that Jalapeno Happiness is sold out for this season. We'll just have to make more next year. Of course, locals can always just cal or email and pick up toffee and pepper jam orders at the Western Colorado Business Incubator.
