Meridian Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for recreation and sport vendors for the annual Unplug and Be Outside event on Saturday, May 30, in Kleiner Park.

We love recreation.

It plays a crucial role in fostering a balanced and healthy lifestyle. It enhances physical, emotional, and mental well-being, while also strengthening social connections to combat loneliness. Additionally, it can link young people with positive role models and lifestyles, ultimately benefiting the community as a whole. The advantages of recreation extend across all aspects of life, including physical, mental, emotional, and social health.

We are currently accepting applications from businesses and organizations in sports and recreation to participate in the 2025 Unplug and Outside events on Saturday, May 10 in Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park.

Have you visited the art gallery in Meridian City Hall?

Upcoming exhibit at Initial Point Gallery! Join us on Tuesday, March 4 from 4:30 - 7:00 pm for an opening reception of "Land Lines."

Exhibiting artists:
- Beth Trott’s work in this exhibit originated though observations of breathtaking vistas and stunning skies amidst soaring powerlines that she first found distracting, but eventually she viewed as part of “an elegant balancing act. It struck me as a visual metaphor for the life we live in The West.”
- Antonia Hedrick is a geologist and illustrator. Part of her work surveys the shifting human boundaries on maps as ownership, westward expansion, and cultural exclusion. Other works explore the natural patterns of shadows and light, snow, talus, plants, outcrops, folds, and faults in Idaho.
- Artist Stephanie Inman uses wood, recycled materials, and salvaged metal to recreate little structures of silos, towers, and other buildings.

Initial Point Gallery is located at 33 E. Broadway Avenue on the third floor of Meridian City Hall in downtown Meridian. The gallery, which is curated by the Meridian Arts Commission, features a rotating series of art exhibits highlighting a variety of local, regional, and national artists. It is open weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding holidays. The gallery and Artist Reception is open to the public and free to attend.

Additional information about Initial Point Gallery, including its schedule of upcoming exhibits, can be found online at: https://meridiancity.org/gallery or at the link in our bio.

We are excited to have Pepsi Co & FritoLay as our presenting sponsor for the 10th Annual Trunk or Treat. The event is a fundraiser for the Meridian Food Bank's Backpack Program. Primrose School of North Meridian has stepped up to offer a huge donation directly to the Meridian Food Bank! -size community building.

We have a very limited number of trunk spaces left for businesses and organizations to participate. This event is sincerely a local favorite and ushers in fall with festiveness. We typically see between 6,000 - 8,000 kids attending. For marketing, it is a low-key way to gain visibility with Meridian families and the Treasure Valley.

Trunk spaces are free but do require costumes and decorations. Give us a call at (208) 489-0564 if you have questions or visit meridiancity.org/trunkortreat for the online application. It would be sweet to have you join us.

To offer more shade for both the band and the concert attendees, we are shifting this Friday's Bri Kleiner Park Live concert to 7:30 - 9:30 pm.

How much difference can 30 minutes make? If it means not standing in the direct sunlight, it can make a huge difference.
