Mentone Fall Festival

Arts and crafts festival celebrating Mentone, Alabama Moon Lake Elementary School was built in 1928 and was closed in 2021. Food will also be available on site.

The town of Mentone, Alabama will host its first annual Mentone Fall Festival, a single-day arts and crafts event set for Saturday, October 21, 2023. The festival will take place at the historic campus of Moon Lake Elementary School, now known as Moon Lake Village. After its closing the Board of Education deeded the campus to the town of Mentone, which then created Moon Lake Village, a space for shops, crafts workspaces, and entertainment events. However, the school building is badly in need of repairs, and all funds raised at the festival will be used by the town for its restoration. The festival will host dozens of vendors and present entertainment all day at its adjacent amphitheater. Admission to the festival is free, but there is a $5 per vehicle parking fee. Local area shops, restaurants, galleries, and parks will be welcoming festival-goers to Mentone all weekend long. Mentone Inn will be hosting a kick-off concert on Friday evening.

What a day! From the first visitors arriving Saturday morning to the final notes of music in the afternoon, Moon Lake Campus was filled with art, music, food, laughter and so many people enjoying a beautiful fall day in Mentone.

To everyone who came to spend the day with us — THANK YOU! Whether you traveled from down the road or made a road trip to the mountain, we’re so grateful you chose to be part of this special day.

🎨 Thank you to our incredible artists and vendors who filled the campus with creativity, talent and so many wonderful things to discover.

🎶 Thank you to all of our musicians and performers who provided the soundtrack for the day at Shigley Amphitheater and in front of Moon Lake Campus. From morning until afternoon, visitors enjoyed great music all day long.

🍴 Thank you to our food and drink vendors who kept everyone well fed and fueled for shopping and exploring!

And to our VOLUNTEERS — we simply couldn’t do it without you. There are countless hours of planning, preparation, setup, problem-solving, helping visitors and vendors, and cleanup that go into making festival day happen. Most of all, thank you for supporting Mentone and the historic Moon Lake Campus. Proceeds from the festival will go toward the continued restoration of this special place so it can continue to serve our community for generations to come.

The Shigley Amphitheater isn’t the only place you’ll find great music at this year’s Mentone Fall Festival!

We’ll have live music throughout the day right in front of the historic Moon Lake Campus—providing the perfect soundtrack as you browse the artists and vendors, grab something delicious to eat and enjoy a beautiful fall day in Mentone.
