🌼 Why do Germans raise the Maibaum? 🇩🇪
The Maibaum (Maypole) is one of the oldest and most meaningful traditions of Maifest celebrations. For generations, communities across Bavaria have raised the Maibaum to welcome spring, celebrate local pride, and bring neighbors together.
Decorated with ribbons, wreaths, and symbols of village life, the Maibaum represents heritage, unity, and new beginnings after the long winter months.
That same spirit of tradition and community is what makes Mai Fest Germantown so special each year at Firemen’s Park, May 15–17 🌸🎶🍻

Our friends at the Bier Stube are hosting their own Mai Fest celebration on Saturday, May 30th, featuring live music, a keg tapping, and a stein holding contest — sounds like a great time!

Just a quick note for everyone planning their schedules:
👉 This is a separate event from Mai Fest Germantown at Firemen’s Park (May 15–17).

We love seeing multiple German-style celebrations happening in the community and encourage everyone to check them both out! More chances for Gemütlichkeit, music, and great beer is always a win. 🍺🎶
