KampKromm🏀 is starting to take shape for this summer.

I’ve already had more than a handful of athletes fill out the interest form, so I wanted to share it again for any families who may have missed it earlier this week.

Kamp is for boys and girls entering 6th–9th grade and will stay small group (about 6–8 athletes per session) in Mendota. We work on skill, confidence, and learning how to handle pressure on the court.

The interest form is in the comments.✌🏻❤️🏀

As high school basketball seasons are wrapping up, I’m dreaming of KampKromm🏀 this summer…

Last summer was such a special season… watching athletes grow in confidence, build friendships with kids from different schools, and love coming to Kamp reminded me why I do this.

If your athlete (rising 6th graders-9th grade boys & girls) might be interested, you can fill out this short interest form here: https://forms.gle/zwCuDdAJn7Wg1FuR8

Please share if there’s an athlete you know that might be interested. ✌🏻❤️🏀

Something I’ve learned, both through years of working with students and athletes and in my own life, is this:
growth doesn’t come from being pushed.

It comes from feeling safe enough to stay with yourself…especially after mistakes and losses.

When someone feels regulated, supported, and not judged, confidence can actually take root.
That’s when learning happens.
That’s when belief becomes possible.

The Inner Game Huddle recordings are simply a space for that.

Not motivation.
Not fixing.
Just steady presence, repetition, and reflection…the things that help the nervous system settle so self-trust can grow.

They are for athletes who want to come back to themselves when things feel shaky…and build from there.

The inner game affects the outer game.

It’s here for the athletes who need it.

Confidence isn’t built through hype or motivation.
It’s built through repetition, reflection, and learning how to stay with yourself after mistakes.

That’s the inner game.

Last fall, I recorded a 12-week Inner Game Huddle for athletes who wanted a steadier relationship with themselves…on the court, mat, field, or wherever they compete.

Each week, I shared short voice notes.
Not lectures.
Not mindset talks.
Just grounded reflections meant to support self-trust over time.

There was nothing to complete.
Nothing to prove.
Just listening… and letting it land.

I’ve made those recordings available now as a self-paced audio collection for athletes who know the inner game shapes everything else.

This isn’t traditional sports training.

It’s inner game conditioning…the part that determines how you respond after a mistake, how you handle pressure, and how much you trust yourself when it matters.

Last fall, I hosted a 12-week Inner Game Huddle with a small group of athletes.

Each week, I shared short voice notes. Not lectures, not mindset talks. Just grounded reflections designed to calm the nervous system and strengthen self-trust.

There was no performance required.
No homework.
No fixing.
Just listening, repetition, and staying connected to yourself.

I’ve made those recordings available now as a self-paced audio collection.

This is for athletes who:
• want confidence that doesn’t disappear after mistakes
• want to feel steadier in high-pressure moments
• want to trust themselves more…without forcing it
• sense that belief grows through experience, not hype

You don’t need to “do” anything with this.
Just listen when it feels supportive.

If it fits, you’ll know.

Something powerful happens when an athlete steps into a space where they’re truly seen…not for their stats, speed, or skill, but for the heart behind how they play.

That’s what the Inner Game Huddle is. A space where I pour belief into every athlete until they start to believe in themselves.

It’s for 6th–12th grade athletes who:
•put too much pressure on themselves
•fear making mistakes or overthink every move
•get frustrated when effort doesn’t equal results
•care deeply but struggle to show it
•are ready to reconnect to their bodies, confidence, and love for the game of life again

This isn’t just for basketball players… it’s for any athlete who knows there’s more potential inside them waiting to be unlocked. 💫

Please share this if you feel called…we’re building grounded, confident leaders who trust themselves — on and off the court.

This Isn’t Just About the Game.

Most youth athletes train their bodies.
Very few are taught how to train their minds.

How to bounce back after a mistake.
How to stay confident when the pressure’s on.
How to handle frustration without spiraling.
How to talk to themselves with compassion, not shame.

That’s what Inner Game Huddle is for.
A private space on the free Telegram app where I share mindset tools, videos, and voice notes designed to build self-trust, focus, and leadership.

This is for 6th-12th grade athletes, boys or girls, of any sport.

No commenting. No interaction. Just listen. Reflect. Apply.

It’s quiet, consistent, and powerful. Like real growth usually is.

I’ve played at high levels. I’ve coached for decades.

But the greatest game I’ve ever played, and now teach, is the inner one.

Inner Game Huddle is open. We begin October 26th. Register with the link in my stories or here: https://forms.gle/5pE713NCUEchpD2r6

Over the past few years, I’ve poured my heart into one-on-one coaching…helping athletes strengthen their skills, confidence, and belief in themselves.

But lately, I’ve felt a shift.

While I love working with athletes individually, I know how powerful it is to heal and grow in community. That’s where real transformation happens…to help more athletes learn to self-regulate, handle pressure, and reconnect to their love for the game together.

So, for this season, I won’t be offering anymore 1:1 sessions.
My energy is moving toward team experiences, school partnerships, and The Inner Game Huddle… my monthly space for 6th-12th grade athletes of any sport who want to build mindset, confidence, and emotional leadership from the inside out.

I’m so grateful for every athlete and family who’s trusted me in this work. The ripple of that impact is what’s allowing this next evolution to unfold.

It’s hard to watch athletes who love the game, but play like they’re bracing for impact.

They’re not lazy.
They’re not unmotivated.
They’re just stiff.

You can feel it…the rushing, the tension,
the holding of breath before every move.

It’s what happens when the body forgets what safety feels like.
When play turns into pressure.
When joy gets replaced by survival.

What I want for them isn’t perfection…
It’s aliveness.
The kind that lets them breathe again.
Feel again.
Have fun again.

That’s the heart of The Inner Game Huddle…
a monthly space for 6th–12th grade athletes (boys & girls, any sport) to strengthen their mindset, emotional regulation, and trust in themselves.

It’s hosted on Telegram…a free app that works like a quiet, one-way group text.
Athletes can listen, reflect, and respond with emojis. But there’s no chatting, no contact from anyone but me. It’s simple, safe, and focused.

Because before they can play their best…
they have to feel safe enough to be themselves.

And thanks to several community donors who believe in this mission, there are sponsored spots available.

We tip off October 26.
$22/month or $60 for 3 months.

Something I noticed this summer with my 6th–8th grade athletes really stuck with me…

This group, the ones who were in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade during COVID, carry something different.

They’re hardworking, kind, and aware… but many are terrified of making mistakes.

They shut down when they’re critiqued or mess up.
They overthink their next move instead of just playing.

It’s not laziness. It’s not lack of effort.

It’s nervous-system related…a generation that spent their most formative years learning to self-monitor on screens instead of self-regulate in groups.

I see it every time an athlete flinches when I make a suggestion.
Every time someone wants to give up after a small mistake.
Every time they hang their head after a missed shot.
Every time perfectionism overrides joy.

That’s why I do what I do.

Because the inner game is what allows these athletes to trust themselves again.
To take risks.
To breathe.
To play.
To have fun.

This is the work we’ll be deepening through The Inner Game Huddle…a monthly space for 6th–12th grade athletes of any sport who want to strengthen confidence, emotional regulation, and leadership from the inside out.

We officially tip off October 26th.

đź’ś $22/month or $60 for 3 months

Thanks to generous community donors, several three-month spots have already been paid in full — creating opportunities for athletes who feel called to this work to join at no cost.

What started as a summer kamp is turning into something way bigger.

Lately, every donation to KampKromm🏀 has felt like a full-circle moment.

A student from my very first class in Winnebago sent $300 to keep the movement alive.

A Mendota fan gave a generous donation in memory of her parents…the same parents who cheered for us from the bleachers.

And now…I wanna shout-out a friend from high school, the MHS boys’ varsity coach…Steve Wasmer. Through the Mendota Point Guard Club, he donated enough to sponsor two athletes.

This is bigger than basketball. These aren’t just random gifts. They’re powerful reminders that the relationships we build keep rippling forward. People see kids growing in confidence, leadership, and self-awareness through the game we love…and they want to support that.

What started as a summer kamp is quickly becoming a community-funded movement that lives year-round.

The inner game affects the outer game. 🙌🏻
