Resting in Christ
Stop Striving and Start Abiding
The Lie:
"I have to work harder to earn God's approval."
"If I do more, then I'll be enough."
"I have to make everything happen."
Many people live exhausted because they are striving instead of abiding.
They strive for acceptance.
They strive for significance.
They strive for results.
They strive for validation.
But the Kingdom was never designed to operate through striving.
It operates through relationship.
The Christian life is not about working your way to God.
It is about remaining connected to Him.
The Scripture – John 15:5 (NKJV):
"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
Notice that Jesus did not say, "Work harder and produce fruit."
He said, "Abide."
Fruit is the result of connection.
Not striving.
Not performing.
Not exhausting yourself.
Simply remaining connected to Christ.
The Mind Reset:
God never called you to carry the responsibility of producing everything on your own.
Your assignment is not to strive.
Your assignment is to abide.
When you stay connected to Christ:
Peace replaces pressure.
Trust replaces anxiety.
Dependence replaces self-reliance.
Many of the things you are trying to force are the very things God wants to produce through relationship.
Stop measuring your worth by your productivity.
Stop measuring your value by your performance.
Your identity is not found in what you accomplish.
Your identity is found in Christ.
The more you abide, the more fruit naturally flows from your life.
Reflection:
Where have you been striving in your own strength instead of abiding in Christ and trusting Him to produce the fruit?
I AM abiding in Christ.
I AM connected to the true Vine.
I AM resting in God's love and acceptance.
I AM fruitful because I remain in Christ.
I AM free from striving and self-reliance.
I AM strengthened by God's grace.
I AM trusting God to produce the fruit in my life.
I AM secure in my identity in Christ.
I AM walking in peace instead of pressure.
I AM dependent upon God and not my own strength.
