On the day of Janie Paris’s memorial, we want to thank Kara and Gerry Keen for a generous donation made to LoneTree Live in Janie’s memory.

Though we did not know Janie personally, we’ve been deeply touched while learning about her vibrant life and career in theatre. Born in New York City, Janie built a remarkable career on stage and screen, but it was her warmth, humor, and vibrant spirit that seem to have stayed with people most.

Kara shared a memory of being one of the "no neck monsters" in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" with Janie as Maggie at Theatre Memphis back when it was still at the Pink Palace. Kara was just a child, and it was Janie’s first play in Memphis ... the beginning of a lasting friendship not just with Kara, but the city!

It means a great deal to LoneTree Live to receive support in honor of someone who gave so much life to the stage and to the people around her. We are grateful to Kara and her family for thinking of us as they celebrate Janie’s life and memory.

When you come to CLOWN BAR this final weekend, we invite you to show up when the doors open at 7pm for evening shows and 1:30pm Sunday so you can settle in with your Soul & Spirits brew or other drink and snack before the opening! The bar is in the playing space. We start the show with variety acts - only a select few of the variety performers will appear each performance, and we know you'll enjoy them all! We all need a laugh after this long week, right?

🤡 And, the audience is encouraged to dress as their own clown persona when coming to the Clown Bar! You'll fit right in! If you don't have full garb, you can buy a nose at the bar - proceeds go to our LoneTree Live Actor Fund.

We're in our final weekend of CLOWN BAR, written by Adam Szymkowicz and directed by Julia Hinson. Come grab a drink - we recommend a beer from our sponsor Soul & Spirits! - and snack and sit in our limited café seating (sold out Saturday) or enjoy the hilarity from the general admission theater seats. Watch as our hero-detective Happy Mahoney (Lymonté Thomas) searches to find out who killed his brother Timmy (Kawika Friskillo) while down-and-out clown Dusty (Joe Johnson) grieves his dead cat and sings those tunes that won't leave your head until long after the final bows.
