The City of Medford is holding a public meeting on the future of Haines Square on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. via zoom.

Their engineering and traffic departments have been actively applying for funds and as designs are finalized and the project moves toward the bidding process, the city wants to inform the community on their progress.

This project is all about making the square a safer place for pedestrians, businesses and motorists so please join the City of Medford on Thursday, December 9th at 6p.m. via Zoom.

Thank you to everyone who has donated books to Jay Campbell Realty and McDonough Property Management’s indoor free little library! Thanks to you, they have a great variety of books. If you would like to take a book, view their library, or donate a book, they are located at 435 Salem Street next to Ronny’s Pizza and across from Citizens Bank. We have attached a few examples of the books they currently have on hand.

Even though they have a great selection of books, they are happy to accept additional books if anyone else would like to donate their books.

The Medford Mayor's Office and the Center for Citizenship and Social Responsibility (CCSR) are hosting a BIG cleanup on SATURDAY, August 8th from 10am - 1pm in Haines Square.

Volunteers are still needed. This cleanup will be spread out and limited to 25 people.

The students from Medford’s Center for Citizenship and Social Responsibility (CCSR) program are shifting the focus from everything that’s canceled to what we can all still do together.

“I think in these times of need community is something that’s very important,” junior Kathleen Campbell.

“These projects that the students are doing are doing just that and you can make an impact from home,” Michael Skorker, CCSR Coordinator, explained.

Social distancing isn’t stopping one group of students from bringing their community together.

The City of Medford and the Medford Chamber of Commerce has created a COVID-19 Relief Fund established to support local restaurants and community members neighbors in need of food during the COVID-19 crisis. In the City of Medford, over 30% of its students are eligible for free or reduced lunches.

This fund has a dual goal: support our local restaurants while also feeding those residents in need during the COVID-19 public health crisis. Your donations will provide monetary support to local restaurants who will then provide meals to our community members in need via local nonprofits.
