Bellforge Arts Center Breaks Ground on $30M Cultural Campus in Medfield.

This morning, after years of planning, four outdoor seasons, and welcoming more than 42,000 visitors, construction officially began on Bellforge Arts Center's year-round home for the arts at the former Medfield State Hospital.

Expected to open in fall 2027.

Juneteenth Festival in Partnership with Medway Marches
A gathering to honor history, culture, and community.
June 19 • 2–6:30pm

Bellforge Arts Center’s annual Juneteenth Festival, presented in partnership with Medway Marches, honors the history and significance of Juneteenth while celebrating Black culture, creativity, and excellence.

The gathering invites the community to come together for an afternoon of live music, dance, spoken word, reflection, and shared celebration across the Bellforge grounds, featuring performances and appearances from DJ Alcide, The Akwaaba Ensemble, breakdancer Teflon, spoken word artists, and a special reading from Fred Douglas.

Guests can also enjoy incredible food and drink offerings throughout the event, including Caribbean flavors from The Hut Island Vybes and other local vendors.

Our first ever FORGE+ Art & Craft Festival was something really special.

A beautiful day filled with art, conversation, handmade work, and people simply enjoying the grounds together. Seeing kids create, artists connect with visitors, and the campus come alive in this way felt pretty magical.

Thank you to every artist, vendor, volunteer, and visitor who helped bring it to life.
